Glorious day for @UniMelb Open Day! Come see our soil liquefaction, permeable pavement, offshore wind foundation demos and join our Geotech Lab tour! We hope we have attracted some future civil engineers to join @engunimelb! @GANarsilio@ANAMITRA22@bnorozilivecom1@RaeesiRamin
Kicking off #infrastructure#Engineering tour in our renewed Labotatories and facilities showcasing both industry led and fundamental learning and research at the #UniMelbOpenDay. Welcome to Melbourne University!
I really enjoyed every moment of it! So glad to have been part of such great team with @DisfaniM, @GANarsilio and Amin Soltani as my supervisors at @UniMelb. Special thanks to @Shiaohuey_Chow, and our Dean of @engunimelb, @MarkCassidyUoM for making this night more memorable!
It is a wrap up now! Most productive 48 hrs of beam time at the @ausynchrotron! 60 scans, 5 people, many shifts! Is it day or night now? Thank you the IMBL team, including Anton and Chris Hall for your support.
For the second time, on a 14 Feb, @ausynchrotron for the love of #science, exploring particle scale mechanisms governing heat transfer in cemented geomaterials subjected to Ko loading and breakage of bonding.
One of the greatest ideas we have here at IE Department at UniMelb; all PhD students of our department present their interesting research every year in the Infrastructure Engineering Postgraduate Conference (IEPC). Enjoyed it!
From offshore geotechnics to recycled plastic retaining walls - proud to be in such a diverse geotech group
The Geotechnical Engineering team secures state funding. https://t.co/WNliQ7BdE1
Our brilliant geotechnical engineering research students telling #UnimelbOpenDay visitors on our educational & research programs on waste tyre based permeable pavements; energy Geotechnics and an interactive quiz on soil liquefaction @engunimelb
It is always good to see the value and the imapct of your research in real world. Opening the carpark in @CityofMitcham where waste tyre-based permeable pavement is used and monitored by using innovative instruments. Much more to be done!
@DisfaniM@GANarsilio @engunimelb
@DisfaniM@CityofMitcham@TyreStewardship@unimelb @engunimelb Great to see colleagues growing and making an impact! Here with part of his research team and the very supportive Mayor of @CityofMitcham Heather Holmes-Ross for the launch of the permeable pavements project (under operation).
@CityofMitcham official opening for a waste tyre permeable pavement carpark developed @engunimelb with great interest from local and state government; industry and public! Great to see impact of our research!
Such an enjoyable night at #MEGala2019, meeting entrepreneurs and learning from their experiences to make a bettrer future for us and for the rest of the world!
Thanks @TRaMunimelb for inviting us!
Enjoying the E.H. Davis Memorial Lecture by @COFS_UWA@UWAEMS Prof Barry Lehane about the “Design of Foundations Using The Cone Penetration Test” in #Victoria as part of his @aus_aust national tour. #agsvic#Geotechnical
Interesting research by @ToriTang1 on hybrid lightweight concrete system to lower carbon footprint, reduce costs, be sustainable, and many other benefits! Time to shift gears and make the buildings sustainable!
#UniMelbScicomm
With the advancements in 3D construction printing and using geopolymers instead of cement, not only can we have our dream builings “printed,” but they will have less carbon footprint as well! Interesting research by @MohsenRSh ! #UniMelbScicomm
Interesting research by @Patrick_WLam on prevention of hair loss, not the hair on our heads, but inside the ears! Those which enable us to hear!#UniMelbSciComm
Really interesting research by @ChristinaCrachi on effect of meditation on stroke reoccurrence! Long examining period, but valuable results to prevent stroke reoccurrence. #UniMelbSciComm
Putting our old tyres back on the roads? @RaeesiRamin investigates using waste tyres to create water permeable pavements to tackle flooding and landfill issues at the same time #UniMelbscicomm
Answering two questions about matter-antimatter asymmetry and what the darkmatter is by a single model, the Miror Model. Really interesting research by @a_ritter_darkly#UniMelbSciComm
