Welfare Alliance for Greyhounds Tasmania spokesperson Anne Boxhall said Tasracing 'should confirm whether the dogs will be rehabilitated, retired or put down'.
'Pulse contacted Tasracing today, but they declined to comment on the incident'
Why can't the public be told the current condition of these seriously injured greyhounds? Assume they would have followed up with vets the next day - have they had surgery, amputations? Are they still alive? What will be next for these dogs?

After suffering a serious leg injury on track Rumble Tempest (Pesto) is alive and well albeit as a tripaw. Rehabilitation requires money, time and love. This outcome should be the bare minimum extended to injured greyhounds, not the exception. Broken bones shouldn’t equal death.
In post below you can see Rumble Tempest (Pesto) suffering a major "injury" to his left foreleg at the Townsville death track last November. He will have been through a lot of pain & suffering but thankfully they didn't kill him.
He no longer has that leg but as you can see in the footage from GAPQld, he is alive, he can still run, and appears to be coping well on 3 legs.
Please someone in Queensland adopt him!
As someone just said to me - "why aren’t we seeing more greyhounds recovering like this?" Why indeed. So many greyhounds with fractured legs are killed, disposed of, when they could have had many more, and much better, years ahead of them in a loving home.
Obviously if the greyhounds had any say in it, they would prefer not have been seriously injured or lost legs, but they would also choose not to die. Let them live!

Tasmania racing participants made a big deal the other day of circulating footage of a greyhound running around after being injured the night before, claiming they were tired of the narrative, claiming injuries are all exaggerated.
Looking forward to them posting footage of these two greyhounds drugged up with pain medication I assume, running around this morning on their broken bones ? I can tell you that most Tasmanians and Australians are tired of witnessing the falls, the injuries, the extreme suffering inflicted on these beautiful dogs. It is animal abuse and it has no place in Tasmania or anywhere else.

Hobart Tasmania last night - no report yet but greyhounds Pop's Girl and Elko are both showing on the results page as major 90 day injuries. Status of both on Fasttrack is showing as alive, at this stage.
What we do know is that if an incapacitation period is 90 days, there will be serious injuries involved and extreme suffering. They should release the report to the public now and not wait until late on a Friday afternoon as they often do.

Nowra NSW last night, this is two year old Brayden's Girl falling, suffering "fractures to the left radius and ulna". Still alive apparently but many others have been euthanised for similar injuries so will be keeping a close eye on.

the injuries greyhounds suffer on these tracks are truly horrific. The suffering involved is extreme. Both of her front legs were broken. Just imagine how much suffering was involved, at just after 10pm on a Tuesday night in Wagga NSW.

Greyhound Welfare Initiative update from earlier today on Birdwood Franky, injured at Angle Park South Australia yesterday:
"We have since been told the fracture was so severe that bone penetrated through his front leg. He is now reportedly at the Angle Park Veterinary Clinic for “orthopaedic surgery”."
"If confirmed, this was a catastrophic fracture"
"It was also Franky’s first start for trainer Damien Hutchins. Franky has already passed through six trainers, including Judith Hurley while Hutchins has previously assisted Hurley & disqualified participant Jack Trengove"

Birdwood Franky is alive, for now, suffering a left radius/ulna fracture. Extreme suffering and 90 more days of suffering and incapacitation if they don't kill him.
Also at Angle Park tonight, a left tarsal fracture for Sponsorship, a toe fracture for She's Our First, and a right monkey muscle injury for Adhana Layla. And of course many serious injuries only later become apparent.

It is claimed that greyhound Rocksmith injured himself "in the kennels on 3 April 2026 after jumping onto its [his] bed and sliding into a wall"
"Mr Rylands was found guilty of ... failing to provide veterinary attention, when necessary, to ROCKSMITH's injured right shoulder on 3 April 2026 while the greyhound was under his care."
"When presented to a veterinarian the following day, the injury was diagnosed as a fractured long bone, and the greyhound was euthanised as a result."

if the greyhound didn't suffer a major injury then why is Tasracing hiding the footage from the public? People have a right to see what greyhound racing looks like. They keep telling us it's all good while they keep reguarly hiding race footage

First race at Launceston Tasmania tonight, a horrible fall for Rojo Coco. She appears to slam into the fence. Not sure if she is badly injured, dead? Unclear what was going on. The race was called off.
Only her second ever race, not yet 2 years old.

Footage is not perfect but can see the horror well enough. I can't see where she is on track in the wider shots at the end?
