This is what happens when Big Pharma is allowed to poison consumers with impunity even when the cure is worse than the disease.
Fluoroquinolones are being doled out like candy by uneducated doctors, completely oblivious to the potential for serious harm from this toxic drug.
Many are still baffled when patients experience severe adverse side effects, and rather than connecting it to the course of meds they previously gave their patient, they look else where.
I was heartened to discover my last ER doctor was fully aware of their potential, but that's because he had experienced them first hand with an Achilles tear.
Big Pharma reps will always downplay any adverse effects to sell product and Big Pharma will go to great lengths to hide as much negative data as possible.
I was crippled by this drug back when the adverse side effects only stated temporary mild tendon or ligament pain.
My doctor had no idea what had happened to me or how to treat the crippling pain and tendon tearing I was experiencing. I went through years of frustration and misdiagnosis until I finally found the answer.
It took a second round of Cipro years from the last that finally lead me to the true cause of my continually worsening disability.
Much like this lovely lady, @FVulneraries I was a very athletic, active person before I was floxed. I am now a shell of my former self. I've had multiple surgeries to correct the damage and more in my future if my battered body can withstand the stress.
I've also developed comorbidities that have completely compromised my immune system to such a degree that it may no longer be possible to correct the issues I'm facing and ever fully recover my mobility.
I warn every single person I meet about this drug. There are certain people who ask why I need assistive devices to walk. Many of those people are also plagued with tendon, ligament and bone issues and can relate to my situation.
When I tell them about Fluoroquinolones I see their minds working to remember if they ever took the drug, and more often than not, they have, sadly.
THIS DRUG IS NOT WORTH THE RISK! There are plenty of safer alternatives I could have been given at the time, but my doctors were duped along with me.
Please, warn everyone you know about the risks of taking this family of drugs. They go by many names, and they are also used in many compound prescriptions.
I pray Talia finds healing from her pain and regains her health.

Stop feeding squirrels corn.

Squirrels need a calcium-to-phosphorus ratio of about 2:1 in their diet. Corn has the opposite. So do peanuts and sunflower seeds.

When a squirrel eats mostly corn, its body pulls calcium from its bones to keep blood chemistry stable. The result is Metabolic Bone Disease: soft bones, fractures, weakness, paralysis, seizures, death. It's slow and it's painful.

Wildlife rehabilitators see it constantly in young squirrels raised in yards with reliable corn feeders.

Improperly stored or buried corn also grows Aspergillus mold, which produces aflatoxins. Squirrels didn't evolve with corn and don't instinctively avoid the mold. One bad cob can cause acute liver failure.

If you want to feed squirrels, the right food is acorns, hickory nuts, walnuts in the shell, or apple and squash pieces.

I've had my own harrowing experiences with our medical and psychiatric healthcare systems here, and it's not even close to your story. Canada has become a dystopian twilight zone for the disabled.
