@BlakeHHarris lol. Not even surprised this is how it turned out. Said it when it was announced, they got greedy thinking they could solve the problems with money instead of using the spots to bring along players everyone is clamoring to bring up (outfield prospects)
@BlakeHHarris Goes to show you throwing around fuck you money is stupid as hell. May as well just light that money on fire given the shitty value we got from them
@SadYuDarvish Remember, they didn’t give a fuck until Ohtani’s contract so when they cry shout 1b I’m deferred contract, they really only mean his which is wild cuz he offered that contract himself to other teams too
@gallegos_fam Not really. It’s just mind boggling people keep rehashing this in a manner other than him having money stolen from him. It’s not unheard of in sports. It feeds the tin foil hat people. He deferred 780m dollars of his contract. Sounds to me like he doesn’t pay attention to $$
@ChadMoriyama Also kind of why I just wasn’t a fan of the deal. He was never gonna live up to that kind of money and now you’ve blocked an outfield prospect for the next 2 years… maybe longer if Tucker opts in… which I suspect he will lol
@LADodgersMuse@JeffPassan I think you guys need to be careful with that skubal hype. Yeah the dodgers can afford the prospect capital but if the price ain’t right, screw it. I don’t have faith in a player coming off surgery mid season and looking for a pay day.
@SnavelyCody6 Sure but we both know the tigers aren’t settling for that. My issue with all of this is that we are trading that much for a rental who will be coming off surgery, and eyeing to get a big fat pay day this off season. Max Scherzer PTSD is triggering me right now
@Wisco0827@ChadMoriyama So why even bring up the tv contract? Your whole question is based on the assumption that it’s what has allowed them to do what they’ve done the past 2 years which isn’t true. The Ohtani money has. But people are fixated on the tv contract as if it hasn’t been there for 12 years
@Wisco0827@ChadMoriyama Their TV contract has nothing to do with them maximizing Ohtani’s global superstardom which has allowed them to spend the way they have. The angels had him for 7 years and did nothing with him.
@Ricky190419124@awitrado The dodgers just threw 150m+ in taxes back into the pot for the other teams to distribute lmao. They’ve had this deal for 14 years but people are only bitching now. It’s not the tv deal. They’ve done a better job of capitalizing on Ohtani’s global appeal to make bank
@jmar0416@FoulTerritoryTV@Brent_Rooker25 It won’t fix anything. It’s just optics that benefit owners to line their own pockets. All these bad teams get access to the most desired asset all teams want, high end CHEAP talent. They have them through their athletic prime lol. What are we even talking about here
@DavidWally5@DMAC_LA They’re the ones that put them in that position by allowing a person to buy the team on pure credit. They knew he had no business owning them
