Hoy en el #8M quiero invitar a todas las que detestan a Taylor Swift a ver este video y pensar si no se sienten representadas y de repente no las invade un odio hacia la prensa por haberles vendido exactamente la imagen que ella denuncia en sus dichos
Taylor Swift talks about the reception to her new album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ during Zane Lowe interview:
“I welcome the chaos. The rule of show business is if it’s the first week of my album release, and you are saying either my name or my album title, you’re helping. I have a lot of respect for people’s subjective opinions on art — I’m not the art police. Everybody is allowed to feel exactly how they want and what our goal is as entertainers is to be a mirror. Oftentimes an album is a really, really wild way to look at yourself — what you’re going through in your life is gonna affect whether you relate to the music I’m putting out at any given moment. What I often love seeing my fans say is ‘I used to be someone who didn’t like relate to Reputation, and now that I’ve been through some other things in my life, that’s my favorite album.’ Or ‘I used to be a Fearless girlie, now I’m obsessed with Evermore.’ I have such an eye on legacy when I’m making my music — I know what I made, I know I adore it.”

The prioritization of hate posts in the algorithm of social media platforms has damaged society as a whole with how easily has it become for people to succumb to negativity, thus polluting their mindset—with a recent example being Showgirl. Nearly everyone loved it during the first few hours, but when the hate posts from the dedicated antis started to kick in and so disproportionately got prioritized by the algorithm, there had been a sudden shift in the general opinion because of how susceptible so many people are to changing their minds about something based on the perceived “popular opinion”.
It’s one thing to trap yourself in an echo chamber (which is, of course, not ideal), but there has got to be a line on how much you let other people’s opinions affect yours, especially on the body of work of an artist you’ve admired for so long (all the while listening and succumbing to the opinions of all these randos and losers who know absolutely nothing about Taylor and the nuances of her music). It’s such a shame, really, and I hope you find your back to your “original” self (as dramatic as that sounds), because Showgirl is objectively such a great pop album that you’re doing a great disservice with all these horrible takes guised as “objectivity” (when in reality are mostly a reflection of your gullibility and susceptibility to being influenced by other people’s opinions).
Not liking the album is okay, it doesn't have to be everyone's cup of tea, but implying she needs to take a break because YOU didn't like it is disrespectful, like... who the heck do you think you are? She is an artist, and she has the right to create whatever she feels/wants to.
