The judges in the Khabib vs Tibau fight.
I see a lot of people saying Khabib robbed Tibau, so I went back and watched for myself.
The fight is a lot closer than people say. I wouldn’t classify it as a “robbery,” but a 30-27 UD is absurd. I gave rounds 1 and 2 to Tibau and round 3 to Khabib. I’m not mad if you score it 29-28 Khabib. He has a good case for rounds 2 and 3.
Khabib did a great job pushing the pace and controlling the center of the octagon, but he got outstruck on the feet and went 0 for 13 on takedowns. That’s why I think Tibau won.
Just listen to the announcers’ reaction. They were not pleased with that result.
Also, shoutout to the referee, Mario Yamasaki. He was not letting Khabib get away with just holding Tibau against the fence. Every time Khabib tried the Dagestan special, Yamasaki separated them and Khabib got pieced up on the feet.
The infamous round 2. The most controversial and impactful round in UFC history.
I really don’t see how you can score this round for Islam. Volk dropped him, controlled the center of the octagon, won most of the grappling exchanges, and caused more damage.
Yet, ALL THREE JUDGES scored this round for Islam.
Heading into round 2, Islam was a -500, but at the beginning of round 3 he was only a -300, meaning the odds makers think Volk won this round too.
If this round is overturned in Volk’s favor, he undoubtedly becomes the UFC GOAT.
Prime for prime, who would win this fight?
I think Khabib would hit ’em with a COLD one-liner:
“I taught you everything you know, but I didn’t teach you everything I know.”

THE PATH TO GETTING OUR BELT BACK 🏆
Ilia deserves the immediate rematch. Justin wants no part of running it back, so here’s how we force it:
Step 1: Ruffy beats Arman. If Arman wins, Justin hands him the shot 100%. Ruffy winning keeps the lane clear.
Step 2: Ilia vs Paddy gets booked. Ilia knocks him out.
Step 3: The division sorts itself out behind them. Ruffy vs Oliveira, Salkilld vs Holloway. Nobody jumps the line.
Step 4: Paddy is finished, no contender left to hide behind. Justin runs out of excuses. Ilia gets his rematch.
This is doable. The belt comes home.
Alex would’ve had a much better chance against Gane walking in at 205 than at true heavyweight.
He got too heavy and slow, and stood no chance. His left hook at 205 knocks anyone out anyway.
