Imam al-Shafee says: pleasing people (everyone) is an unattainable goal.

But upon us is to speak/say the truth, let whoever wants to be angry be angry and let whoever wants to be pleased be pleased. The one who's pleasure we seek is Allah"

ينبغي لطالب العلم أن يوجّه همّته إلى العمل، لا إلى الجدل؛ فإنّ العمر قصير، والوقت أنفس من أن يُضيَّع فيما لا ينفع.

فلننظر إلى ما أمرنا الله به فنأتمر، وإلى ما نهانا عنه فننتهي؛ فالعلم إنما يُطلب للعمل به، لا لمجرد الجدل والمراء.
