Robbie has been dead 14 years. I was ten. I didn’t even have a phone when he died. We never texted. Today I saw something and grabbed my phone to go text him about it. Grief is weird. And my brain is rude. And now I am left really wanting to tell him about something and I cant.
@ttlizz Honestly it wasn’t the sheets for me. It was switching my mattress that helped! Got rid of my 500 dollar pillow top mattress for a 250 dollar mattress from the Walmart 🤣 it’s so comfy and I have noticed I am sweating way less.
Going to work, functioning through the day around everyone like it’s just a normal day while my heart feels like it’s being ripped to shreds is one of the hardest things about adult hood and grieving. The world doesn’t stop just because mine did.
TikTok just showed me a video of Kyren Lacy’s little brother speaking at his funeral. I was that kid. I was TEN YEARS OLD speaking at my brothers funeral.. MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS. check on your people.
Kept myself distracted all day by spending hours in the aquarium but laying in bed now with the heaviest feeling in my chest. You should be here celebrating with us Robbie. You should be here. Happy 32 🤍
Grieving Robbie hard this week it seems. If you ever wanted an example of how not linear grief is it’s this. He has been gone since 2011. We are about to enter 2025 and I have been filled to the brim almost all day with sadness and anger.
We listen & we don’t judge
Dead brother edition:
Seeing Robbie’s friends live their lives sometimes makes me so angry. Not at them. But at him. I’ll never be an aunt to his kids or stand w/ him at his wedding and it makes me so sad that sometimes it’s hard to be happy for them
