This is HUGE for the Tesla Energy business because:

📈 India is going all-in on solar and wind to hit its clean energy goals. But since the sun isn't always shining, their power grid desperately needs industrial-scale batteries to store all that electricity. This is a massive, multi-billion-dollar market that is opening up right now.

⚡ Energy projects in India run on incredibly tight profit margins, meaning construction delays can completely tank a project. Tesla’s giant battery systems are pre-built at the factory and basically plug-and-play on site. This slashes installation times and setup costs, making it much easier for local developers to actually turn a profit.

💰 The Indian government is stepping up to kickstart this with over $1 billion in direct cash grants. They're offering to cover up to 40% of the upfront costs for early large-scale battery installations. With the government footing so much of the bill, investing in premium Tesla hardware becomes a no-brainer for local utility companies.

THE SpaceX IPO - Thinking out loud

1. Elon says he overbuilt Colossus on purpose with full intent to rent it out. This shocked even me

2. The biggest issue raised by pundits regarding the valuation being too high - 100X Market Cap to Revenue. That has dropped to 41X for 2026 with revenues expected to reach $23B or so, under 20X for 2027, and 10X for 2028.

3. Anyone doubting that Elon Musk is an absolute over-the-top genius at seeing the future, and building to meet it also still believes in global warming as an existential threat.

4. There is a very good likelihood that the IPO price, fixed by SpaceX, and according to Elon, not going to change, will be super low, and the stock will have a significant pop this Friday into next week.

5. Business schools should be rewriting almost everything they know about strategy, hiring, organization, manufacturing, and product development.

6. Long term, SpaceX is a $100B market cap, but so is Tesla. No one, not even Elon, knows which one will be ahead a year from now or a decade from now, but they will be number 1 and number 2 in the world (unless they merge).
