@pipachel You’re allowed your personal thoughts on the book, but to say Annabeth is 100% black as canon just because you think that’s how it is, is ridiculous when there’s 16 years of art (official and unofficial) depicting her in one way.
@pipachel So because he doesn’t mind, we as fans have the right to say what race his characters are before he’s decided who’s even going to play them? That’s just several different types of foolishness lmao
@inhernetly_ap@THEHAZELPRINT TJ was definitely said to be black before then. In one of the first encounters with him he reveals he died fighting for the Union (side trying to free slaves in americas civil war) and that he was the child of a slave
@r_blankk @charlieeffsprng In 09 her hair color didn’t matter that much. This is because it wasn’t until Mark Of Athena came out ther we see Annabeth was unfairly judged as an airhead because she’s blonde which is part of her character arc. It’d be stupid to not include that now.
@pipachel I understand that he is open to a black Annabeth but for fans to just jump in and say “he said it was ok so that’s how it’s going to be” is very rude. Like he hasn’t poured his heart and soul into his characters.
@imbrekkingdown Lol so because nobody wants to read a book to see well written characters we should change the race of one character to fit their laziness? You’re all a riot lmao I’m done arguing with children on this feed 😂
@girloty Carter and Sadie Kane (yes she counts, she’s half black), TJ, Hazel, Charles, Blitzen (shown in art and said to have dark skin), Austin Lake (son of Apollo). There’s plenty of representation and each one of them is different. There’s plenty of representation just none y’all like
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki Ah yes I’m the dumb fuck for wanting a character to be depicted the way she always has in official art, Viria approved art, and the comic books. Sue me 🤦🏽♂️
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki If you’d take a second to look at my profile picture you’d see I’m actually black myself so now you just sound like an idiot with trying to call me yt
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki Y’all really sticking with this and for what? Literally for what? It’s funny cause if any of the black characters had their races changed there would be riots due to not misrepresentation. Changes to character and story was so bad with the first two movies
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki She’s not being disrespected tho? Again she’s grained great power both with her own magic powers, and political power, and not to mention she’s the only black female character to be seen with such a high power of political authority. Even better than she’s a woman
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki You’re going to complain about a DEMIGOD, going through hardships with her parents, love interests and friends? And that they have shitty lives? THATS THE POINT OF THE STORIES! It’s literally said multiple times halfbloods rarely live happy lives. You chose to ignore that info
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki in ensuring the success of being able to get through the House of Hades. She even rose up to the rank of Peaetor. She’s very far from undeveloped you just don’t think she matches what you wish she would do you dislike the character.
@diamondsmone @luhvrosequartz_ @DicenKaki You’re going to ignore the fact that her entire arc was about gaining confidence, breaking the shackles that she felt were keeping her tied down, and growing in strength of her abilities? She literally had an entire book of training during House of Hades and played a pivotal role
@siriusrry So because of that we should entirely change a character to fit our desires of how she should be? I don’t know about any of y’all but when I first read the books as a kid I wasn’t questioning how many poc were there I was just enjoying the story more worried about plot
@wlwbrie @charlieeffsprng No I just know that there’s no need to change the characters from the source material. A huge problem we had with the movies was them changing details about the characters now you guys want to entirely change the race of the characters? That’s asinine.
@wlwbrie @charlieeffsprng Charles Beckendorf who’s described as a large and strong black kid, Hazel Levesque who as a character struggled in 1930s New Orleans as a black kid. TJ who fought for the union to free his people in the civil war
