lowkey, everyone mothers me so much, and honestly, being immensely loved feels beautiful. but i’m a red flag because the moment someone shows me genuine love, i hold a gun towards them. idk who i became, but unfortunately… here we are.
sometimes i wonder about people who linger over every gesture, reread every message, and find meaning in the smallest things. did you have journals before twitter, or did twitter simply become the place where all those thoughts found a home?
some things i thought would happen in my life didn’t. i’ve accepted it, but sometimes, especially at night, it still aches.
so i let myself daydream about the life that could’ve been. just for a little while.
and when i come back to reality, somehow, acceptance feels a little easier.
sometimes, instead of doing what your heart wants, listen to your brain. it’s incredibly hard, but you have to resist.
a young man once told me, “when you know what it is, what the reality is, and you know the outcome cannot be changed, but you still can’t cope with it—find an alternative. if not, find another. if not, find a hobby.”
because sometimes, it really is what it is.
