Thousands of migrants from Morocco poured over the country's border with Spain and into the country’s African enclave of Ceuta after swimming around border barriers to reach the territory.
The latest wave comes after more than 1,500 migrants arrived in Ceuta by sea over the past week, according to regional authorities.
Ceuta's leader is now urging Spain's national government to declare an emergency as the enclave faces another major surge at the European Union's only land border with Africa.
This border breach comes at the same time as President Trump sounds the alarm about the rising number of migrants coming from Africa and other parts of the world who he says are “invading” European countries.
