This year Independence Day is tinged with sadness as the person who taught me so much about 1947 is no longer with us.

A few years ago I was in Pakistan when it was Independence Day. My father in law shared with us his memories of 1947 and the journey he took. So much was sacrificed by so many. This is him with my youngest. #PakistanIndependenceDay 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰

2024 will always be remembered as the year which gave me so much happiness in seeing my first child getting married but also sadness as I lost the last remaining siblings of both my parents. Their love and duas are greatly missed 💕

It was a pleasure to be at the book launch of “Muslims Don’t Matter” by the brave @SayeedaWarsi It was lovely to see @Jemima_Khan and others who had come out to show their support. Well done Sayeeda on writing this fabulous book which is much needed in this current climate.
