Imagine your parents discussing a close family friend in the privacy of their bedroom. Let's call him uncle Tunde.

Daddy: "babe, did you see Tunde and his new girlfriend."
Mummy: "LMAO don't mind the agbaya he doesn't know that he is getting old."
Daddy: "Bachelor at 50 with bald head forming fine boy ��😂"
Mummy: "What do those small girls see in him sef? 😂😂"

Tomorrow, they will still laugh with Tunde. Daddy will still lend him money and generally help out. Mummy too will still help Tunde as a friend if he needs it.

The fact that they make fun of uncle Tunde in the privacy of their bedroom doesn't mean that they hate Tunde or that he is not a dear friend. Do you get it now?
