@lindseyfrostie @HasinaTamanna #EYTeaching I love seeing how the drive for early reading makes such a big impact. I have children now who will always ask to see the back cover of a book what a particular punctuation means & how this affects the story telling speak. This all helps bring stories to life!

@lindseyfrostie #EYTeaching We had a great example of a natural and real personal opportunity for boys engaged in writing today. We had a football game which eventually turned into lots of the boys writing down their scores on lots of small post its. After 5min our whole pitch was full of them!

@lindseyfrostie Having writing opportunities that are flexible and adaptable to meet their growing interests. Also being a keen observer and thinking of creative ideas to help marry together whatever their current craze is. I find bringing their favourite dinosaur/car is the best place to start

@lindseyfrostie Our special books are written to the child from the KP. Where we use language adopted from the characteristics to illustrate any gradual progression.
This is a great way of sharing with parents and get them involved in their childs unique learning process!

@lindseyfrostie #EYteaching Another example a child filling up a cylinder with water and testing out the volume of water needed in order to get a seperate pump she placed inside to work squirt out water which came as a delight to her peers. They then decided to operate a car wash with it

@lindseyfrostie @saltbythesea I find having regular conferencing sessions along with ecat tools with children taking the time to look at their work/ special books also really helps us to monitor and assess whether any progress is being made and which areas of the ecat need more focus. #EYTeaching

@lindseyfrostie #EYTeaching Yes! The more they are exposed to it the more interest they gain which soon turns into an heightened awareness. Look about maths is all around us! On our recent trip the children were more aware of numerals and various shapes/size of the transport around us

@lindseyfrostie We really emphasise on the importance of early maths through the provision provided. Lots of open ended resources to invoke interest and language. We had empty gift bags in our sand pit today and they loved to just fill and transport! Lots of language on capacity,measure heavy..

@lindseyfrostie Certainly an advantage to the children to be exposed to use of real tools. It allows making links to real life experiences and learning the skills to hold n manipulate them through investigation
