This chart is just 1 piece of a larger review I am working on. Compiled from 13 years of MIRA, MMA, and audit report data, it traces the government's foreign currency inflows, outflows, and debt payments across three administrations; how many dollars each government earned, and how each managed them. The yardstick is Chapter 9 of the IMF's Public Financial Management and Its Emerging Architecture (2013): "cash management and debt management are two sides of the same coin". My last such review, on the sovereign–bank nexus and BML, was published in @AdhadhuMV this week; hopefully the review behind this chart should follow next week.
August is not a month it is the beginning of a crack in time,
A final chance to set things right before the bells begin to chime.
For after August, the people's burdens may grow too heavy to bear,
And suffering, left unanswered, has a way of filling the air.
History has written this lesson in every age it has known:
When the cracks are left untended, they widen, until they reach the throne.
This government collects more dollars per year than any administration in Maldivian history. Yet card limits, import strain, and FX rationing persist.
The question is no longer whether the state earns dollars. It's where they go?

Life, like football, sometimes requires you to defend a lead but not by falling back and surrendering your ability to fight back. After scoring, England abandoned the mid-block and coordinated pressing that had kept Argentina at bay. They dropped into a passive low block without pressure on the ball, effective counter-attacking outlets or the ability to push their defensive line forward. Defending deep was not the mistake; defending without an escape route was. Argentina kept attacking with courage, patience and intensity, while England merely waited for the final whistle. Argentina fought like lions and deservedly turned the semifinal around. A valuable tactical lesson for every coach.
We may not be the Champions of FIFA World Cup this time. Atleast we are proud Champions of Sofa politics. Good or bad there are people emulating.

My response to President @MMuizzu's claims about the National Reserve at Dh Meedhoo on 14 June 2026.
In short, @MMuizzu is pushing artificially inflated reserve numbers that the @WorldBankGroup repeatedly refuses to recognize.
