On the fourth day of World Immunization Week 2026, Rahnuma – Family Planning Association of Pakistan (RFPAP), in collaboration with SHPERE Consulting, continued its outreach efforts across the districts of Gujranwala, Lahore, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Rajanpur in Punjab.
A series of impactful activities were carried out, demonstrating strong community engagement and active participation from health officials, frontline workers, and community members. The celebration of World Immunization Week was marked with great enthusiasm and commitment by Rahnuma–Family Planning Association of Pakistan and SPHERE Consulting , across multiple districts of Punjab, including Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Lahore and Multan The activities were carried out under the broader vision of promoting the theme “For Every Generation, Vaccines Work,” emphasizing the life-saving power of immunization.
To commemorate the occasion, a series of impactful community-based activities were organized. Awareness walks were conducted in key localities, where participants carried banners and placards highlighting the importance of routine immunization. These walks served as a visible and engaging platform to mobilize communities and spark conversations around vaccination.
In addition, interactive community sessions were held in both urban and peri-urban areas. These sessions were designed to directly engage parents, caregivers, and families, providing them with accurate and easy-to-understand information about routine immunization schedules. Rahnuma–Family Planning Association of Pakistan, in collaboration with the Association for Gender Awareness & Human Empowerment (AGAHE) and REEDS, and with the valuable support of The Vaccine Alliance (GAVI), Mannion Daniels (MD), and Oxford Policy Management (OPM), successfully organized a Poster Competition and Immunization Model Competition under the global theme: “For Every Generation, Vaccines Work.”
Dr. Asif Ali, Regional Director Punjab (RFPAP), highlighted the critical importance of vaccination and immunization as one of the most effective and lifesaving public health interventions. During his address, Dr. Asif Ali also shared the key achievements and performance of RFPAP over the last nine months. He noted that the organization has made significant progress in strengthening immunization services through the successful implementation of GAVI-supported projects, including the expansion of vaccination centers, outreach activities, and community mobilization initiatives. He highlighted improvements in service delivery, increased vaccination uptake, and enhanced coordination with provincial and district health departments.
Among the outstanding participants, Nimra Iqbal from Team Rahnuma secured 2nd position, bringing pride and recognition to the organization through her impactful presentation and compelling message on immunization. Her achievement reflects the dedication and capacity of Rahnuma teams in promoting health awareness and community engagement.

A review meeting was held on 8th April 2026 at the Directorate of EPI Punjab, Lahore, bringing together key representatives from RFPAP, SPHERE, AGAHE, REEDS, GAVI, Mannion Daniels, OPM, and the Gates Foundation. Chaired by Dr. Naveed Akhtar, Director EPI Punjab, the meeting featured participation from key stakeholders, including Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Mrs. Urooj Virk, Dr. Naeem Majeed, Aqeel Ahmed, and others to review progress and strengthen collaboration.
During the session, RFPAP shared important updates on project achievements, progress in routine immunization and HPV program implementation, and highlighted ongoing challenges. Dr. Naveed Akhtar appreciated the critical role of CSOs in advancing immunization efforts and recommended initiating monthly coordination meetings to enhance alignment, collaboration, and regular progress review among all stakeholders.

A policy workshop on the development of a roadmap for the socio-economic development of youth in Balochistan under PSDP schemes was held at the Directorate of Youth Affairs, Government of Balochistan. Regional Director R-FPAP Balochistan, Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed, attended the workshop and highlighted key challenges faced by youth in the province, including lack of education, poor health services, unemployment, coordination gaps, Life Skills-Based Education (LSBE), and issues related to Family Planning (FP) and SRH. He also shared various practical strategies and recommendations to address these challenges and emphasized the need for integrated, youth-centered policies to ensure sustainable development in Balochistan.

Mr. Zahid Ali, CEO of Rahnuma-FPAP, and Dr. Rasheed, Humanitarian Analyst at UNFPA, recently visited UC Langarwah under the UNFPA-supported humanitarian flood response project.
The visit highlighted the positive impact of integrated services:
Emergency obstetric care (EMONC)
GBV awareness and response
Mental health & psychosocial support (MHPSS)
Distribution of RH and dignity kits
Community members expressed strong satisfaction, and coordination with district health authorities was further strengthened for sustained service delivery.
Challenges remain high rates of child marriage, GBV, limited reporting mechanisms, and lack of transport for emergency maternal care. The community emphasized the urgent need for accessible, community-level health services.
In response, proposals were made in partnership with the community to establish a Family Health Clinic and strengthen GBV prevention and referral systems to bridge these gaps.
Together, we move forward toward healthier, safer, and more resilient communities.

Key discussions also centered on ensuring the provision of the HPV vaccine, enhancing daily monitoring via WhatsApp, and finalizing preparations for upcoming campaigns. Additionally, the team outlined plans for the upcoming World Immunization Week, which is observed annually from April 24–30.

Rahnuma-FPAP's Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager, Ms. Nausheen visited UC Jhangirabad, Multan, to evaluate the EPI Center performance. During her visit, she reviewed key records—including stock registers, household cluster books, and defaulter list, which highlighted a strong upward trend in vaccination coverage. Additionally, she also participated in HPV awareness walks and Community Support Group meetings, where ASV, UCMO, LHWs, and local members collaborated to advocate for cervical cancer prevention through immunization.
