NATO Members Condemn But India Dodges: A Diplomatic Misstep
Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan have become the primary facilitators for U.S.-Iran dialogue and a ceasefire, after Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty led an "intensive diplomatic offensive." Yet all three strongly condemned the February 28 U.S.-Israeli joint war on Iran, calling it an "unacceptable violation of sovereignty," a “blatant” or unjustified attack.
They were also quick to denounce the targeted assassination of Iran’s supreme leader, who also served as the country's head of state. In keeping with diplomatic protocol, they sent official messages of condolence to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian over the killing.
In fact, most of America’s allies among the 32-nation NATO alliance view the war as unnecessary and illegal under international law — as Spanish leader Pedro Sánchez called it at the outset, and German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier put it on March 24.
In stark contrast, India — the world’s largest democracy — has avoided any implied criticism of the U.S.-led war. Official statements steer clear of terms like “aggression” or “attack,” sticking instead to bland phrases such as "deep concern," "evolution of the situation" and "escalation in West Asia."
Discarding diplomatic protocol, New Delhi sent no official condolence to Tehran over the supreme leader’s killing, despite the assassination flagrantly violating the international convention against targeting a head of state or government. Only after opposition criticism did the government, on March 5, dispatch the foreign secretary to sign the condolence book at the Iranian Embassy.
New Delhi also refrained from even obliquely criticizing the March 4 U.S. sinking — in India’s own maritime backyard — of an Iranian "guest" warship returning from an India-hosted multilateral naval exercise, which featured U.S. Navy participation.
Yet today, Washington has sidelined India in its diplomatic outreach to Tehran through third parties, even as the U.S.-led war holds the Indian economy hostage.
The lesson is clear: No country should abandon its principles, especially when a war of aggression sets a dangerous new precedent in international relations. While ties with the U.S. and Israel serve India’s vital interests, appeasing self-centered, norms-flouting leaders like Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu can only backfire.
Trump’s Call to Modi Was Damage Control
Strip away the diplomatic niceties and the picture is clear: Donald Trump’s call to Narendra Modi was not routine consultation, but pure damage control.
By routing through Pakistan his 15-point “peace” plan to end the war that he started against Iran, Trump has made that country’s army chief an indispensable intermediary. Field Marshal Asim Munir’s emergence as Washington’s channel to Tehran not only underscores Pakistan’s geopolitical relevance to Washington, but also fits with Trump’s earlier description of Munir as his “favorite field marshal.”
For New Delhi, the optics are galling.
India bears the brunt of the economic fallout from a war launched by its two principal strategic partners, the U.S. and Israel. With the Strait of Hormuz effectively disrupted and Indian shipments exposed to risk, New Delhi is both stakeholder and victim.
Yet, in a stark inversion of roles, it is not India but Pakistan (which has long used its nuclear-weapons shield to export terrorism) that is Washington’s diplomatic conduit.
This explains Trump’s phone call. The language of keeping India “in the loop” is just reassurance — a way to soften the blow, not change the reality.
Because the reality is this: When it mattered, Trump chose Pakistan as the conduit, and is now trying to make sure Modi doesn’t take it personally.
This is just the latest occasion when Trump has sought to undermine his “very good friend” Modi.
Yield of an exclusivist and extremist hegemonic narrative is always a catastrophe for a socio-culturally diverse state, with the worse reserved for marginalised and deprived...while the privileged scoots unabashed.

Kanwar Yatra much like mahakumbh yet again showcases the bigoted religious idiosyncrasy of the state....which had stooped so low that they can't discern between sycophancy and following SOPs to maintain law and order.

Normatively, empirically and historically - India is superior in terms of its number, equipments, morale, technology across all three sectors of the armed forces. India will emerge victorious, but at what cost. Praying and hoping for mature heads on both sides of LOC.
Though evidently, Indian armed forces have an upper hand over its present rival.... an, one on one conflict will leave pakistan reeling losses.... but not without huge casualties on both side. If war can be avoided, it should be in any way.

India is following calibrated escalation with the aim of maintaining escalatory dominance while shying away from disproportionate and asymmetrical warfare .....which the Indian mainstream (TV) media is incapable of grasping.

If it's about sending a message (which out to be hard, thorough, future-proof and decisive) it will be silent but deadly. America and west have always used the rhetoric of plausible deniability with such great effects, despite doing most of harakiri affecting today's world.
Covert operations ought to have remain covert , with the garb of deniability as your primary rhetoric....for it is evident for the international arena who the avenger could be, without escalating the situation beyond repair or amelioration.

Despite the #KumbhStampede , mainstream media wouldn't focus on the people- same people that form a bulk of its audience; the issues that promulgated this fiasco......but rather focus on the issue that the CM is sorry. They keep breaking their threshold of degeneration.
