Bengaluru’s plan to become No.1 🏆: squeeze Kerala- and Tamil Nadu-bound passengers. If @vdsatheesan agrees to let this happen, I wouldn’t hesitate to call him a fraud, especially given that Hari Menon is his close friend.
Street vendors are occupying the entire footpath opposite Egmore Railway Station and even extending onto a bus-route road. Pedestrians are being forced to walk on the carriageway, creating a serious safety and traffic hazard.
How is such encroachment being permitted despite the Street Vendors (Protection of Livelihood and Regulation of Street Vending) Act, 2014 and the need to protect pedestrian space?
I request @chennaicorp, @chennaipolice_ and @ChennaiTraffic, along with @GccNorth, to conduct an immediate field inspection and take appropriate enforcement action, ensuring that the footpath and road space are restored for safe pedestrian and traffic movement.
Pedestrian safety and public road space must not be compromised.

🚨Again and again. Bank after bank.
👨💼People pay their credit card fees for the full year, only to see a devaluation mid-year. This is like taking money from a customer and then not providing what they paid for.
🏦 🤝 RBI must step in. Stop these mid-year devaluations.
🪓I am not against devaluations. That’s the bank’s choice and may be necessary. But why should a customer suffer after paying the full-year fee with the expectation of using the promised features and benefits?
🛑 Stop mid-year devaluations. Either let users enjoy the benefits until their next renewal or provide a pro-rata refund.
We have enough technology and smart people to implement solutions for such use cases.

Supreme Court allows convicted rape-of-minor convict Asaram Bapu a full-time trained caregiver of his choice in jail.
Years earlier, 83-year-old undertrial Father Stan Swamy, suffering from Parkinson’s, had to fight for weeks just to get a straw and sipper so he could drink water without spilling. Medical bail repeatedly denied. He died in custody.
Same system. Same courts. Vastly different urgency for basic human dignity. Selective compassion isn’t justice. It’s the opposite.
The condition of Old Mahabalipuram Road after a 15-min shower in Thoraipakkam and Sholinganallur… Photo 3 - pedestrian walking in the carriage way as the water has stagnated for upto two lanes.
Chennai doesn't ask you to fit in. It just quietly absorbs you until you realise you've become a part of its story. The Hindu’s #MadeOfChennai campaign captures that transformation. A month-long love letter to the city that shapes us, surprises us, and stays with us. @the_hindu
What was pitched as a digital upgrade to offer liquor buyers greater choice & transparency has instead exposed the deep rooted nexus between TASMAC employees & suppliers to push select brands. There's simply not alternative. Employees won't budget. Privatise Tasmac @VigneshTvkCbe@CMOTamilnadu 🙏
After recently visiting Tamil Nadu and now Vietnam, parallels are striking.
TN is India’s VN:
- manufacturing ≈ 20% of GDP,
- per capita GDP ≈ US $4.5 k
(n.b. VN’s GDP is ~30% larger - so is its population.)
Both stand out as bright, emerging industrial hotspots.

Car drivers all over India are busy on their phones all the time as if they are fortune 500 C suite executives.
@nitin_gadkari should force manufactures to install front back and inside car dash cams that automatically report if a car driver is using phone while driving.
Didn’t Vijay boycott the All-Party meeting called by the DMK government on Delimitation? 🤷♂️ Now TVK expects DMK MPs to attend their all-party meet? The hypocrisy is wild. Why should DMK extend courtesy to someone who never showed any? 🛑
NEW | Siddaramaiah began politics in 1978 as a taluk board member. Fifty years later, he says he will no longer contest elections. But he has also promised to remain a “voice for the people”—and that may keep Karnataka politics interesting. @RKRadhakrishn writes.

A girl booked a room at a hotel in Hyderabad and paid for it in full. She stayed there for some time, then locked the room and went out for an important meeting.
While she was away, the hotel staff used a master key to open her room without her permission. They allowed another person to stay in the same room for some time. That person's belongings were placed inside, and the girl's belongings were found moved and scattered.
When she returned and saw this, she was shocked. She complained to the hotel, but the management replied, "It was necessary, so we had to do it."
This raises a serious question: if a guest has paid for a room, how can the hotel enter it without permission and allow someone else to use it?
This is a serious violation of the guest's privacy, security, and trust. Hotels have a responsibility to protect their guests and respect their personal space. In situations like this, the hotel management should be held accountable for their actions.
