A Gentleman and a dear friend, @Majorkiran has been was conferred the Chief of Army Staff “Prashansa Patr” (Appreciation Letter) for his services as a veteran.

The award consists a scroll with citation and a specially crafted medallion titled “Once a Soldier , Always a Soldier”.
Maj Shiva Kiran was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the Army Service Corps (ASC) of the Indian Army on completion of training from the Officers Training Academy (OTA) Chennai in August 1989. He opted for release in July 1995 as a Major.  Post his release he is actively associated with Environmental Stewardship (Solid Waste Management).  He has a Phd in Development Studies from the Centre for Economic and Social Studies.

Maj Kiran’s first posting was in Pathankot. His other postings were at Bareilly, Dehradun and Rajouri.  He served in the difficult sectors of Jammu Kashmir, Rajasthan and Punjab.

- It is established under Article 266 of the Indian Constitution, it is the primary account of the Government of India.

- The Consolidated Fund of India includes all tax and non-tax revenues, as well as loans raised and repayments received by the government.

- All government expenditures, including salaries and subsidies, are made from this fund and require parliamentary approval.

- The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) audits the fund to ensure transparency and accountability.
