She has been missing since March 14 2026.

Height 5’3”. Complexion wheatish.

As per Bhubaneswar Police a reward of Rs 25000 has been announced for information leading to her safe recovery. Identity of the informant will be kept confidential.

Her name is Anju Devi.

On December 9 2024 her son Atul Subhash died in his Bengaluru apartment. He was 34 years old.

He left a 24 page note and an 81 minute video. He named the people he said broke him. He documented four years. 120 court hearings. 40 trips between Bengaluru and Jaunpur.

Before he died he said one thing about his ashes.

If I win against this system immerse them in the Ganga. If I lose throw them in the gutter outside the court.

After he died Anju Devi had one question.

Where is my grandson.

His name is Vyom. He was 4 years old. Nobody told her where he was.

She went to the Supreme Court. Filed a habeas corpus petition. Asked the court to find her grandson.

The court informed her the child was at a boarding school in Faridabad. It observed him briefly on a video call.

Then it told her this.

Sorry to say but the child is a stranger to the petitioner.

Her petition was dismissed.

The criminal case against the accused has been adjourned to November 20 2026. The presiding officer was on leave.

She lost her son. Then went to the highest court in India to find his child.

The court told her she was a stranger.

Vyom is 5 years old today. He does not know what happened yet.

One day he will read that note. Watch that video. And wonder why his grandmother fought so hard just to hold him once.

Her name was Madhumita Shukla.

She was 24 years old. A poet from Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Known across UP for reciting poems of courage at literary gatherings without notes.

She was six months pregnant when she was killed.

On May 9, 2003, two men knocked on her door in Lucknow’s Paper Mill Colony. She recognised them and let them in.

Minutes later, her helper heard a gunshot from the next room. Madhumita was dead. Shot in the chest.

CBI established she had been in a relationship with Amarmani Tripathi. A four time MLA and sitting cabinet minister in Uttar Pradesh. She was pregnant with his child for the third time. She had refused to abort despite continuous pressure.

DNA testing of the foetus confirmed his paternity.

A 35 page diary recovered from her home documented everything. She had written to God saying Amarmani wanted to get rid of her.

CBI concluded Amarmani and his wife Madhumani conspired to have her killed. During the investigation, he planted false stories in media, fabricated evidence and threatened her sister and mother directly. The officer who refused to give him a clean chit was suspended mid investigation.

The trial was transferred from Lucknow to Dehradun by the Supreme Court due to political interference.

In October 2007, both were convicted of murder and sentenced to life imprisonment.

While in jail, Amarmani won a UP Assembly election in 2007. The couple were found holding rock concerts inside Gorakhpur jail and spent extended periods in hospitals outside prison.

In August 2023, the UP government released them early after 16 years citing good behaviour.

Madhumita’s sister Nidhi challenged it in the Supreme Court. In March 2025, the court dismissed her plea.

She said I am afraid for my life and my family’s life.

Madhumita was 24 years old. Six months pregnant. A poet who wrote about courage.

Her killers are free today.

Raised in a disciplined family rooted in service and patriotism

Son of a former police officer, Shri Mahesh Singh
Values of duty and nation-first were instilled from childhood

A bright student and a passionate hockey player
His journey reflected teamwork, resilience, and determination

Joined the Indian Army through TES-35 entry
Commissioned into the Corps of Signals in June 2020

Later deputed to 48 Rashtriya Rifles in J&K
Quickly earned respect for his calmness and tactical skill

13 August 2024 – Intelligence inputs triggered a major operation
Captain Deepak Singh led from the front in Doda forests

Navigating dense, boulder-filled terrain
He positioned his team strategically for surveillance

Around 7:30 PM, contact was established
He engaged terrorists with precision under challenging conditions

Despite darkness and danger
He maintained continuous vigil through the night

Next morning, during search operations
An injured terrorist opened sudden fire from concealment

In a split-second decision
He pushed his buddy to safety

Fully exposing himself to enemy fire
He took multiple gunshot wounds

Yet, he did not step back
He advanced and engaged the terrorist head-on

With precise fire, he neutralised the threat
Even while grievously injured

His courage saved a fellow soldier’s life
And ensured mission success

Captain Deepak Singh attained martyrdom
Upholding the highest traditions of the Indian Army

Republic Day 2025 – His bravery was honoured
Awarded the Shaurya Chakra posthumously

On 23 May 2025 at Rashtrapati Bhavan
His parents received the honour from the President

Leaders and citizens paid tribute
Remembering him as a proud son of Uttarakhand

A son, a brother, a soldier
A hero who chose others before himself

His story is not just of sacrifice
But of leadership, courage, and duty beyond self

Captain Deepak Singh lives on
In the spirit of every Indian soldier

She scored rank 85 in UPSC. She could have become an IAS officer.

She chose IPS instead.

She said she wanted to be on the ground. Not behind a desk.

In 2006 she became the first Assamese woman to join the IPS.

In 2008 they posted her in Makum. One of the most dangerous regions in northeast India. Bodo militants were killing civilians, burning villages, running arms networks for years before she arrived.

Within 15 months she led 16 counter operations in the jungle. She arrested 64 militants. She seized tonnes of illegal weapons and ammunition.

She did not lead from a command centre. She walked into the jungle holding an AK47 alongside CRPF jawans.

She had a four year old child at home.

Her husband is posted elsewhere. She sees him once in two months.

She has a PhD in international relations from JNU. She could have had any career she wanted.

She chose the hardest one.

She is now an Inspector General at the National Investigation Agency.

India has one Sanjukta Parashar. It needs a thousand more.
