In the second half of #Cocktail2, there's an emotional conversation between #KritiSanon and #ShahidKapoor where Kriti expresses her feelings for Shahid and says that she thought it was better to express her feelings and face rejection rather than not express them at all and watch him get married to another woman. Well, that dialogue hit me right in the heart and brought back the painful memories of a regret I have been living with for over a decade. I made the mistake of not being brave and paid the price. How I wish I had done exactly what Kriti said in the movie. Imagine loving someone for years, more than yourself, someone who was your best friend, and not being able to express your feelings to her. The last conversation you had was on her birthday, and the last thing she told you was that her engagement was being fixed. Since then, you decided to completely cut off the friendship because you did not want to be a third wheel and wanted her to have a happy life ahead. Yes, that is the sacrifice I made, and it took me years to move on and work on my biggest weakness of not being expressive. Years later, I finally managed to become expressive, but by then, it was too late. Barring a couple of mutual friends, nobody knows this chapter of my life. 💔
