माझा मुलगा माझा नवरा झाला...PART-3
After some time he came home. I gave him breakfast. Grandma was also there. Everything was quiet for a while.
To change the topic, he started teasing again — this time about my marriage. He said, “Let’s go somewhere for a trip one day.” Grandma said, “Oh son, I’m too old to travel now. I won’t be able to go so far. You take your mom with you. At least she will get to enjoy a little.”
I said, “No need now, at this age why bother?”
He said, “Hey Mom, what do you mean by age? You’re not that old. Even at this age, anyone would marry you. Hahaha.”
Just then Grandma suddenly said, “Why someone else? You only marry your mom.”
For a moment both of us were shocked. We looked at each other. I signaled him with my eyes to stay quiet. He kept silent.
Grandma continued, “What happened? Your mom is all alone. She also deserves a husband. You also need a wife. So what’s wrong if you marry your own mom? For the outside world you will be mother and son, but inside the house you will be her husband. She will stay exactly like your wife. After all, if she becomes your wife, then tell me… are you ready? Think about it and if you’re ready, just say yes.”
There was silence for some time. Then he said, “I’m going out now.” Grandma said, “Think properly and tell me.”
While leaving, he met me in the kitchen and asked, “What happened?”
I said, “Grandma saw what happened between us last night.”
He said, “Oh.”
I said, “Go… don’t worry.”
He went to the corner.

After some time I texted him: “Grandma is thinking about the marriage.” He immediately replied, “I am ready.”
I sent him a selfie with Grandma. He went out with his friends but came back around 11 at night.
His room door was closed. Grandma said, “From now on use our room to freshen up. Wear new clothes. Your marriage muhurat is at 12.” Grandma had made all the preparations. He got ready and sat on the paat next to Grandma.
I also came dressed in a brand new wedding sari, fully decked with jewelry from head to toe.
Exactly at 12 o’clock he tied the mangalsutra around my neck. The mangalsutra was quite long — it was hanging all the way over my breasts. We also performed the saptapadi.
After that Grandma said, “From today onwards you both are husband and wife. Last night I saw everything and understood that you both need each other. Instead of something wrong happening later, it is better that we took this decision today. I felt I should give my daughter to you with my own hands. Now both of you go to your room and do whatever you want.”
We both touched her feet. Grandma signaled him with her eyes to take me to his room.
