A high-level review meeting was held to give a stronger push to the overall development of sports in Bihar, and a number of key decisions came out of it. There was detailed discussion on the Dumri Sports City project, the functioning of district-level Centres of Excellence, expansion of sports facilities at the panchayat level, and, importantly, creating more job opportunities for athletes.

The larger idea is simple, but not small in ambition. Good sports infrastructure should not remain limited to a few cities. It should reach every district, every block, even the panchayats where talent often goes unnoticed. Young players need proper training, access to facilities, and a clear path ahead. The expansion of Centres of Excellence, along with a stronger football training structure, is expected to give many such players a real chance to step forward and be seen.

At the same time, projects like the Rajgir International Stadium are being positioned as more than just venues. They are meant to bring national and international events to Bihar, to create an environment where sport feels alive and aspirational. Alongside this, a long-term sports action plan is being shaped to ensure these efforts are not scattered, but sustained.

The focus remains steady: better facilities, better coaching, and more opportunities. Step by step, the aim is to place Bihar firmly among the leading sporting states in the country.

जब मैंने नगर विकास एवं आवास विभाग के मंत्री के रूप में कार्यभार ग्रहण किया, तभी मन में यह विचार आया कि हमारे शहरों की जीवनरेखा बने गिग एवं डिलीवरी वर्कर्स तपती धूप, भीषण गर्मी, बरसात व सर्दी और कठिन परिस्थितियों में भी दिन-रात नागरिकों तक आवश्यक सेवाएँ पहुँचाते हैं इसलिए इनके लिए विश्राम और राहत की समुचित व्यवस्था का प्रबंध अत्यंत आवश्यक है।

मुझे प्रसन्नता हो रही है कि उस सोच को मूर्त रूप देते हुए पटना स्मार्ट सिटी लिमिटेड द्वारा पटना में प्रायोगिक तौर पर दो स्थानों पर 24×7 Gig Workers AC Lounge का निर्माण किया जा रहा है। यहाँ गिग एवं डिलीवरी वर्कर्स को वातानुकूलित विश्राम स्थल, स्वच्छ पेयजल, मोबाइल चार्जिंग तथा अन्य आवश्यक सुविधाएँ उपलब्ध होंगी।

यह पहल उन कर्मयोगियों के प्रति हमारी संवेदनशीलता और सम्मान का प्रतीक है, जो हर दिन शहर की रफ्तार को बनाए रखते हैं। इन केंद्रों से प्राप्त अनुभव और गिग वर्कर्स के फीडबैक के आधार पर भविष्य में आवश्यकता अनुसार ऐसे लाउंज का विस्तार शहर के अन्य स्थानों पर भी किया जाएगा।

Last week, I convinced a friend who is successful entrepreneur in data centre industry to explore the possibility of establishing a data centre in Bihar.

Data Centre and GCC can be significant catalyst for Bihar’s digital and economic transformation, creating jobs, attracting investment, and strengthening the state’s technology infrastructure.
