@DavidHalcon924@oaklandfans@OaklandRooted@Cpl_Oaktown It happened with Milton Keynes Dons, who were originally Wimbledon FC based in south-west London around the mid 2000s. Pretty much everyone called it “Franchise Football”, due to Wimbledon trying to get a new stadium for years but couldn’t and relocated to a new town miles away.
@OaklandRooted Just ask Cincinnati. Mike Brown put the city and Hamilton County in a brutal vice grip over Paycor Stadium. $450M the stadium cost, $425M paid by the taxpayers.
@OaklandRooted@Cpl_Oaktown The Buffalo Bills are a great example. The Pegulas said firstly, we need a new stadium or we’re moving the team to Austin. Over $1.5B from the state of New York and Erie County.
@OaklandRooted A bid to strong arm billions of taxpayers’ money for a project Fisher could easily pay for in Oakland and refused/incompetent to get done.
@OaklandRooted@Cpl_Oaktown Why aren’t there tents for the workers to have their food, wouldn’t the dust around the site without some form of protection, especially from the weather, be considered a health issue?
@OaklandRooted The whole relocation is a farce and was accelerated by Manfred, partly due to the league paying attention to Fisher's years of incompetence.
@OaklandRooted@Cpl_Oaktown St Louis with the Rams and football Cardinals
San Diego with the Chargers
Montreal with the Expos and 1994 strike
Oakland with the A’s and Raiders
Seattle with the SuperSonics
Minnesota with the North Stars to add to the list since the late 80s and early 90s.
