Like yeah, the return of a civilization of some sort would provided less opportunity for the horrors of a lawless land to show its head.

The show’s storylines and scenes are also very dark. 4 is creepy in a completely different way. But the uneasiness is still there.

Even when we look at how dark Fallout 3 and New Vegas could get, there's just no comparison to how messed up 1 and 2 were. Not to be a doomer, but 4 and 76 removed basically every molecule of edge and personality from this franchise, and I doubt we'll ever get it back.
