Anyone looking to navigate the tournament scene in LV this summer, I highly recommend checking out the app @WizardOfViz made. I've used it to help friends from afar and will be using it once I get to town as I'll have limited time to play. Everything you could want to know is in one place and easy to read and filter. If you do use it, throw a few "chips" Kim's way please. She put a lot of work into this.

TLDR: This wasn't all me.
Bear with me today as I’m not usually wordy but achieving a poker goal I set out at the beginning of the year isn’t something I get to always do, any never quite so publicly.
As I stated in the article, when I saw the first photos of this year’s @RGPokerSeries rings, I wanted one. I wanted to close out an event and have something to show for it. While making a heads-up deal wasn’t the way I envisioned it, when Dan asked me about it, I told him what was important to me. I wanted the ring and what came with it. Dan was tired and wanted to end the event, so I made him an offer of $3000. At the time I had about 2.7m in chips, he had about 1.6m. A solid lead but nothing one all-in couldn’t flip on its head. Dan looked at the payouts on the clock, saw that would bring him over $20.5k. Didn’t wait too long and accepted. Dan was on my right all day and while we had battled hard, we had respect for each other. That is a theme I have found at all three @RGPokerSeries stops I’ve been at. Most players will play as hard as they can, but jokes can still be had, and respect can still be earned.
As for my path to this point, it wasn’t solo by any means. When I returned to the game after moving to Scranton, PA in 2016, two people helped me get up to speed by being my personal study group. Shane Callahan and Doug Fry became important on and off the felt to me. They are my friends for life now, even if poker has no place in it. As my game became inconsistent, I joined a training site called @CrushLivePoker in 2019. I’ve been a member ever since. The biggest asset on the site ended up being @MikeGallo24 . Once I met him for real and not just making his person of interest photo gallery 😊, his discord was always open. If I had something on my mind I could bounce it off of him, no judgement. Just get a truthful opinion. I’m happy to have this genuine person in the poker community in my circle. There is a special place (and post) for @pokerface_ash_ . I got the privilege of being mentored by Diane Zimmerman as a part of @partneredpoker last year. Having her make sure I’m asking the right questions was key to every hand I play. @Lelepokerr helped me out last year with mind set when I got a package to play in the BetMGM main at Aria. We were friends before that, and we have only gotten tighter as our time chatting increases. We are happier for the other person’s achievements than our own. A rare trait to find in a poker friend but I’m blessed with my poker circle. She is the jelly to my peanut butter. @SaraSmartist has provided purpose for me to keep playing. #PokerWithPurpose was her idea that she asked if I would do with her. I snap called and joined in, then added on with the tournament side of things. We started @RailBirdWorks in part because the advocacy work I was trying to do within the poker space fell onto deaf ears for 9 years. The charitable work I’ve been doing will hopefully have a larger reach. She has changed my poker journey for the better and I’m glad I get to call her my friend.

Love it when poker is used a vehicle to do good work. Congratulations Joe Sicko (@Red_Sicko), the Upstate Punters and Alex Fitzgerald (@pokerheadrush) for a successful event. Look forward to seeing more to come from you in the future.
Huge thank you to @pokerheadrush for coming out to Albany this weekend.
You made a lot of players’ day — and honestly a few dreams come true. The coaching, the poker conversations, and even the laughs at the comedy club were unforgettable.
I appreciated the time we got to spend talking poker, business and life, and it was great showing you a little bit of Albany.🫶🙏
Big thanks as well to the International Wrestling Hall of Fame @IPWHF for hosting us, and to every player who came out and made this event such a success.
This event raised $500 for the @ASGHR_NY! Thank you all for the generosity!
Special thank you to @SaraSmartist and @RailBirdWorks for helping push out the community engagement article ahead of the event.
We’re already looking ahead to the **SummerSlam weekend event this August at the @TheMVPArena MVP Arena & International Wrestling Hall of Fame** — and hopefully we can get Alex back out for another coaching session and tournament.
Thank you also, to @WNYT for covering the story on our local morning news!🥰
Big things ahead!
Stay tuned for highlights, shorts and awesome moments from this weekend!
