Over the coming days of mourning for her Majesty the Queen, pubs will become the focal point for many, to share stories, reflect, mourn and comfort each other in a time of great loss. #notjustapub#QueenElizabeth#QueenElizabethII
The increase in energy prices for small businesses is an extremely scary situation. We cannot even get a quote, it will almost certainly mean reducing our opening hours which in turn will have an impact on our staff and supply chains. #EnergyCrisis#hospitalitysos
600% increases for some businesses, others being refused even a quote for fear of bankruptcy. The government’s lack of action on this shows that at best they don’t care, at worst that it’s by design. Pubs cannot survive this. @trussliz@RishiSunak
@Galaxiesgalor Kuki Marlborough Sauvignon blanc, cannot be bought in any supermarket, I’m sure you may get similar. We charge £30 a bottle £10.50 for a 250ml and £7.75 for 175ml all competitively priced for the area we’re in. We’ll never compete or try too with weatherspoons.
@Galaxiesgalor You can buy villa maria in most supermarkets (we don’t sell wine you can buy in a supermarket) We price our wines competitively to the area and demographic we live in, if it didn’t sell we wouldn’t stock it. Weatherspoons buying power compared to ours is incomparable,1 pub to 860
Cheers Ray 🍺 most helpful to our rural village community who rely on us for being way more than just a pub. Maybe you should try your local, it might make you a more happier person 😊
@evans_68@Mott_Mason We have 2 open fires and a log burner plus a tree surgeon as a husband! Oil central heating will hardly be on and we’ll be using a lot more candles 🤣
Electricity prices for small businesses, here’s a thread @TampopoEats At one of my restaurants Two years ago my electricity bill was £16.9k pa/£325 per week. Last year it was £62k pa/£1.200 per week. Contract is up for review in Sep 22 1/
70% of pubs say they may not survive this Winter…picture that, 70% of the places you’ve spent time with family & friends, made memories, enjoyed nights out…gone, boarded up. The knock on effect to towns, cities and businesses that rely on them will be catastrophic.
@AskMarstons could you explain why we can’t get a delivery of Wainwright’s cask bitter? Our last delivery was before you merged computer systems with @carlsberg! We sell 8/9 barrels a week and are struggling to get any at all.
I do not care if a customer of mine has had no jabs, one jab, two jabs or three..
They could have ten for all I care.
With apparently 98% of the population having immunity through infection or vaccination, the assumption that the unvaccinated are walking COVID carriers is wrong.
If you honestly think that wearing a mask from the door to the table, or from the table to the toilet has saved one life, you are beyond trying to debate.
It’s absurd, it’s unscientific and goes against any principle of common sense.
