Highlights of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga–Deepika Padukone Situation:

Initially media reported that Deepika Padukone had accepted the female lead in Spirit, calling it one of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's best written roles. She was reportedly impressed with the script and her character.

However things changed when Deepika made several demands like 8-hour shoot days (effectively 6 hours), not speaking Telugu, a huge 30–40 crore fee and profit share. These shocked the team and they dropped her from the project.

After that Deepika's PR reportedly tried to play the sympathy card, using emotional narratives against Vanga. Days later, Vanga officially announced Tripti Dimri as the lead. Then Deepika’s PR began trying to drag Tripti down claiming the role had bold scenes and even leaking parts of the script, despite once praising it.

Interestingly, the same media that praised the role when Deepika was involved is now calling it "A-rated" after Tripti’s casting. All this provoked Vanga to respond directly on his X (Twitter) account-> @ImVangaSandeep
