In Canada, your right to write about personal experiences is robustly protected under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms, section 2(b), which guarantees "freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication."
It is always hardest for me to write about stalking. Somehow, those experiences violated me in such a distinct way that diluting them into language is more difficult. This is a piece I finally wrote about the woman who stalked me for over four years.
