BREAKING: Pete Hegseth’s Pentagon fires three journalists at the independent military publication Stars and Stripes after they publicly defended its editorial independence and opposed Pentagon censorship.

Publisher Max Lederer. Editor-in-Chief Erik Slavin. Middle East reporter Lara Korte.

Slavin says he was accused of “insubordination” for declaring that censoring news delivered to service members would cross a red line. Korte says she was fired after stating that she works for Stars and Stripes, not the Pentagon or the Trump administration.
