BJP खुद को Pro-Business पार्टी बताती है, लेकिन ज़मीन पर हकीकत यह है कि सबसे ज़्यादा छोटे उद्योग और व्यापार बंद हुए हैं और इसकी सीधी मार वैश्य स��ाज पर पड़ी है।

राहुल गांधी जी के साथ वैश्य समाज की बैठक इसलिए अहम है क्योंकि यह उसी सच्चाई को सामने लाती है जिसे बीजेपी छुपाने की कोशिश करती रही है। राहुल जी लगातार कहते रहे हैं कि BJP का बिज़नेस मॉडल छोटे व्यापारियों के लिए नहीं, बल्कि कुछ गिने-चुने, सत्ता से जुड़े बड़े उद्योगपतियों के फायदे के लिए बना है।

आज MSME तबाह हो चुके हैं। मेहनतकश दुकानदार, छोटे व्यापारी और छोटे निर्माता बढ़ती लागत, घटते मुनाफ़े और बड़े धन्नासेठों से असमान प्रतिस्पर्धा झेल रहे हैं। जो वैश्य समाज सालों तक BJP को इस भरोसे के साथ वोट देता रहा कि वह व्यापार और उद्यम का समर्थन करेगी, अब उसे साफ़ महसूस हो रहा है कि मुनाफ़ा खत्म हो चुका है और दबाव बढ़ता जा रहा है।
