2016 — Dividend tax
• 10% tax on dividend income above ₹10 lakh

2018 — LTCG tax returned
• Listed equity LTCG: 10% above ₹1 lakh

2018 — Equity MF dividend tax
• 10% DDT on equity-oriented mutual funds

2019 — Income-tax surcharge
• High-income surcharge increased up to 37%

2019 — Buyback tax
• 20% buyback tax extended to listed companies

2020 — Dividend taxation changed
• DDT abolished
• Dividend taxed in investor's hands

2024 — STCG increased
• 15% → 20%

2024 — LTCG increased
• 10% → 12.5%
• Exemption: ₹1 lakh → ₹1.25 lakh

2024 — Options STT increased
• 0.0625% → 0.10%

2024 — Buyback taxation changed
• Buyback proceeds shifted to shareholder-level taxation

2025 — F&O STT increased again
• Futures: 0.02% → 0.05%
• Options: 0.10% → 0.15%

A can can fall 50-80-100%.
Every possibility is there .
Here is how we can identify trap vs value .
It depends on the nature of fall.
When RBI talks something bad about banks then banking stocks can fall, the fall scatterer across market caps, large cap stocks can fall 10-15%, mid 15-30%, small 30-70%..

If a large cap stocks falls 50% whe mid and small cap stocks falls 30% it is a divergence,means that particular stocks got effected too much than other stocks in the same category..
Then we don't need to jump at 50%, let's dust settle , let the impact be analysed..then you can pick it at 40% or 70%, it is your conviction..

It is applicable for every sector and every stock..
That's why I mentioned it depends on the nature of fall..
