@stophs2 So it turns out us ‘nimbys’ were right all along & the HS2 management really were incapable of delivering the project on time or on budget. One of the worst business cases I have ever read is now a dozen times worse. You’re all witnessing one of the greatest white elephants ever.

HS2 was always just a tool to redistribute £150+Bn public money into hands of vested interests.
Destruction of Euston Square Gardens - one of the most visited green spaces in London - was a prime example.
Now we see #HS2 won't even get to Euston!

@NickFletcherMP @BorisJohnson The only conceivable reason I can see for Tory MPs wanting Boris back is that they think this will abate some of the calls for a general election. That wY they think they may keep their jobs for another two years. Boris will be an electoral liability.

@frances_cutler It just shows how out of touch politicians are about the opinion of local people with respect to #HS2. Staffordshire gets to pay the bills for the destruction, but gets no benefit. HS2 will make rail journeys to London take longer. Even HS2 admit this.

@HS2ltd Presumably that is why #HS2 are building the station at Curzon Street 1 km away from New Street station to force anybody wanting to connect to HS2 from other parts of the Midlands to walk or use public transport.
