Starting tomorrow, Supreme court of India is on a six-week summer vacation and will be operating at just 19% of its capacity. There are 53 million cases pending in Indian courts - 93,143 of them are pending in the Supreme Court.
A judge can go on a vacation, a judiciary cannot.
I think it is about time that @narendramodi ji needs to give marching orders to Shri Dharmendra Pradhan. The NEET cancellation followed by CBSE fiasco is a major execution disaster. Apart from the disaster on execution front, there is now talk about towards favoritism in appointment of execution agencies.
Involving Armed Forces in NEET execution will not restore the faith of lakhs of children and their parents. Its like using a band-aid to prevent a dam from bursting! There is no guarantee that the disaster will not strike again in one form or the another unless complete overhaul is done.
Probity demands that the Education Minister needs to resign and a complete relook needs to be taken at the NEET execution and the CBSE copy checking system.
@Ravisutanjani And discrimination.. every place you, go there is a separate (higher) price for foreigners. Why?? I don’t pay a discriminatory price when I get to see a monument here in US!
Dear FM Madam @nsitharaman ji,
I have said it before. And I'll say it again. Loud & Clear. I hope you read this. My audience will repost this until it reaches the Ministry.
LTCG of 12.5% on Equities is one of the Lowest in the World.
But there are a few issues:
1. LTCG was ZERO from 2004 to 2018. STT was introduced to offset the Loss in Revenue. It incentivised long term Investors to Hold on Patiently and enjoy Long Term Returns. I believe that Step was something Golden and rewards Long Term Thinking. FM Madam should reconsider this. Keep STT. Abolish LTCG. Consider Long Term Investors as a Partner in Growth of India.
2. STT is already taken for every transaction. This is a tax. Again putting Capital Gain, especially on Long Term Gains is not Ok. This is my Opinion. STT is borne by the investor irrespective of Profit or Loss.
3. We are not against Paying Taxes. In fact, we all Pay Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, GST, Excise, VAT, Tax on Dividends and what not. The problem is the Freebies which are Distributed during the Elections. This is not at all ok. We don't want a single rupee of our Capital Gains to be used for Freebies. Please.
I humbly request the FM Madam to Abolish LTCG on Equities. Make the Long Term Period 24 months instead of 12 months. You will see Patient Capital 👍 We need Patient Capital to Drive Markets. Incentivise Long Term Investing Mindset.
For Indian Investors like me, the Pain is lesser. We will continue to Create Wealth. But what about our FII brothers & sisters. They also deserve to get minimum returns in Dollar Terms.
I feel for the FIIs who have suffered due to declining Rupee and they still have to pay LTCG on Rupee Terms. Something the FM Madam and team should revisit.
I think that it is a good time to implement this. FII no longer control our markets. Domestic Funds are consistent and plenty. If FIIs leave, let them Leave with Head Held High. That is our Responsibility.
India Structually is Brilliant. Let's make it Tax Friendly as well.
Patient Capital will Flow More & Stay, if these Steps are Taken.
A Proud Indian Investor,
#FI
My op-ed in @timesofindia on the rupee:
https://t.co/bvVoq7bGZK
There is nothing automatic about foreign exchange running out. Only the RBI can deplete reserves. The policy question is whether to deplete reserves to support the rupee. I argue that there are ample grounds to let the rupee adjust to arrive at lower imports, higher exports, and to encourage capital inflows. Intervention in FX markets can wait another day.
The Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) in india have the most objective selection process of any undergraduate engineering program worldwide. There are no essays or legacy priorities. One just has to do exceedingly well on two ultra tough tests. The IITs admit just 1.1% of applicants! It is 3-4x easier to get admitted to @mit, @Stanford, @Harvard and @Princeton!
I am excited to share that this year one of our @dakshanaindia Scholars, Godavarthi Harshit Visweswar, got a rank of 39 (out of over 1.5 million applicants!) in the first IIT selection test. He is a sure shot to be admitted and get the campus and major he prefers.
His friends call him GHV and I’ll do the same. GHV grew up in the remote hinterlands of Prakasam District in the State of Andhra Pradesh in India. His father is a farmer and the family somehow survives on $5/day.
When GHV was in 8th grade, a @dakshanaindia alum, Keshava Chandra, who used to be in the same school as GHV delivered Dakshana’s Inspire session at the school. Each year our alums visit hundreds of schools to inspire the next generation of students to aspire to be @dakshanaindia Scholars. GHV was impressed that Keshava was a student at @iitkgp and understood that if he wanted to go to IIT, he needed to be accepted as a @dakshanaindia Scholar after 10th grade.
If there was no @dakshanaindia, the closest location for GHV to get coached for the IIT entrance exam is over 150 miles from his home and the costs of $4000+ would have been completely out of reach. Sometimes all we need is a gentle nudge in the right direction. I received a similar nudge in 8th grade and it totally changed my life trajectory.
GHV was the only kid from his school accepted by @dakshanaindia in 2024. We relocated him to Dakshana’s Center of Excellence in Bengaluru and he was coached for two years at The Charles T. Munger Hall. Charlie would be proud! Congratulations to GHV, his family and his teachers. The future for GHV and his descendants looks very bright. This is @dakshanaindia at its very best!
Good to see Suresh Chips doing well from their Muzaffarpur (Bihar) location.
Thanks to Chandan Raj for continuing from Bihar. Thanks to Bihar govt for continuously improving things.
> More Biharis should start building from Bihar.

Isn’t it ironic that pouring milk into rivers sparks nationwide debates about “blind faith,” while cases involving coercion, harassment for forced religious conversions, justified by promises of Jannat, are rarely discussed as serious religious wrongdoing?
A girl is brutally gang-raped by five men, dragged by her legs, thrown in a well and left to die, and the police officer, contradicting the FIR and two eye witnesses, says the girl jumped into the well and died.
Two crimes have been committed here. The second one live on camera.
“The Supreme Court banning Prof Michel Danino and others for their NCERT chapter on judicial corruption, is nothing short of judicial dictatorship.”
Thank you, @priyankac19, for being the voice of a billion Indians. You have said what the govt and its law minister should have.
What has the SC really achieved by that dictatorial ruling on Michel Danino and others, except draw attention to that chapter in the NCERT textbook, which hardly anyone from the General public would have read otherwise?
The Supreme Court's recent judgment directing the dissociation of Professor Michel Danino and his colleagues from all publicly funded educational roles is nothing short of a draconian overreach, a blatant assault on academic freedom, and a chilling attempt to sanitise the narrative of institutional flaws in India. As a Padma Shri awardee and a scholar who has dedicated his life to illuminating India's ancient civilisation, Danino has been unfairly vilified for daring to include a factual discussion on judicial corruption in a Class 8 NCERT textbook. This ruling not only undermines the principles of transparency and education but also exposes the judiciary's hypersensitivity to scrutiny, even as real corruption festers within its ranks. Let us dissect this travesty with the data it demands.
First, consider Michel Danino's impeccable credentials. Born in France in 1956, he relocated to India in 1977, becoming an Indian citizen and immersing himself in the study of its heritage. He has authored seminal works such as *The Lost River: On the Trail of the Sarasvati* (2010), which marshalled archaeological, hydrological, and satellite data to revive the Vedic Sarasvati River's historical significance, challenging colonial-era myths. Danino debunked the outdated Aryan Invasion Theory through rigorous evidence from sites like Dholavira and Lothal, demonstrating the continuity of the Indus Valley Civilisation with Vedic culture. As a guest professor at IIT Gandhinagar, he helped establish its Archaeological Sciences Centre, and in 2017, he was honoured with the Padma Shri for contributions to literature and education. He convened the International Forum for India's Heritage, boasting over 160 eminent members, and has published in journals like *Man and Environment* and *Puratattva*. To brand such a scholar as lacking "reasonable knowledge" or deliberately misrepresenting facts is an insult to intellectual integrity.
Now, turn to the offending chapter in the NCERT Class 8 Social Science textbook, titled "The Role of the Judiciary in Our Society." Far from being a sensationalist rant, it factually addressed systemic challenges, including "corruption at various levels" that delays justice. It highlighted the staggering backlog: approximately 81,000 pending cases in the Supreme Court, 6.24 million in High Courts, and 47 million in district and subordinate courts. The text linked these to structural issues like judge shortages, complex procedures, and weak infrastructure, echoing the maxim "justice delayed is justice denied." It noted that judges are bound by a code of conduct, yet corruption persists, impacting access to justice, especially for the economically disadvantaged. This is not "misrepresentation"—it is essential civic education for young minds to understand institutional realities and push for reforms.
The irony is palpable when juxtaposed against the data on actual judicial corruption in India. Between 2016 and 2025, over 8,600 complaints were filed against sitting judges, peaking at 1,170 in 2024. Transparency International's 2013 Global Corruption Barometer found that 45% of Indian households viewed the judiciary as corrupt, with an average corruption score of 3.3 out of 5. A 2026 India Today survey revealed that 85% of Indians perceive the judiciary as deeply or somewhat corrupt, with only 8% believing it is corruption-free. In 2013, 36% of citizens reported paying bribes to the judiciary, with 59% to lawyers, 5% to judges, and 30% to court officials for favourable outcomes. As of 2024, over 50 million cases remain pending, exacerbating vulnerabilities where litigants resort to bribes to expedite proceedings. Chief Justice B.R. Gavai himself acknowledged in 2025 that instances of corruption erode public confidence, citing cases like the Allahabad High Court's Justice Yashwant Varma, embroiled in a cash scandal. From 2017 to 2021, 1,631 complaints on judicial misconduct were forwarded via the Centralised Public Grievance Redress system. These figures, drawn from official and international sources, affirm that the chapter's content was grounded in reality, not malice.
This ruling reeks of institutional insecurity. By blacklisting Danino and his associates—Suparna Diwakar and Alok Prasanna Kumar—from any publicly funded work, the Court has effectively censored discourse on its own failings. It mocks the separation of powers, positioning the judiciary as untouchable while it lectures on accountability. Where was this zeal when former Law Minister Shanti Bhushan alleged that eight of sixteen former Chief Justices were corrupt? Or when the Press Information Bureau reported recurring complaints about judicial integrity? The Court's order to rework the chapter only with "domain experts", including a former judge, smacks of self-preservation, not pedagogy.
Education should foster critical thinking, not shield power from critique. By punishing scholars like Danino, who has enriched India's historical narrative, the judiciary risks alienating the very citizens it serves. This is not justice; it is judicial authoritarianism. We must demand a reversal, for the sake of our democracy and our children's right to truth. #StandWithDanino #JudicialOverreach #AcademicFreedom

The amount of time Shivam Dube has saved us in difficult situations, he deserves much more appreciation.
The problem with @narendramodi today is that his team thinks brute force PR will make him trend on this day. However, every single post has majority of comments as negative, asking him on UGC or other issues of the day.
This should be visible and they should be in panic because one can buy trend, pay some handles to retweet or post on your behalf, but comments are not in your hands. A simple report, views to comment/like ration analysis says a lot that has missed.
Organic comments make it organic. Earlier, people worshipped you, now only IT cell does. Just read a random post and comments. It spells like 'mirror'.
