Disappointed with @HDFC_Bank and @Cleartrip.
I booked a #StudentFare ticket through #SmartBuy, and the booking confirmation on #SmartBuy ticket clearly shows it as a #StudentFare. However, when I checked with the airline, the ticket was booked as a regular fare. I reported the issue immediately, yet no action was taken for over 48 hours.
After repeated follow-ups, I was told @Cleartrip refused to acknowledge the mistake. By then, the 48-hour cancellation window had passed. Had I been informed promptly that the #StudentFare could not be booked, I would have cancelled and received an almost full refund.
Mistakes made:
Sold/booked the ticket as a #StudentFare but issued a regular fare ticket.
Failed to act or communicate promptly, causing me to lose the opportunity for a near-full refund.
Who is accountable for this customer loss?
