Over the past 25 years, one thing has become clear: whatever one's political views, writing off Modi-Shah has rarely worked.

From the Gujarat days till now, they have navigated one major crisis after another:

• Taking charge after the 2001 Bhuj earthquake.

• The 2002 Gujarat riots and years of investigations, court cases and international isolation.

• Amit Shah's arrest, jail, and exile from Gujarat before his political comeback.

• Internal BJP rebellions and factional battles in Gujarat.

• The 2015 Land Acquisition Bill setback.

• The Patidar agitation.

• The Una Dalit protests.

• Demonetisation.

• GST rollout and initial economic disruption.

• The closely fought 2017 Gujarat election.

• Pulwama and Balakot.

• Article 370.

• CAA-NRC protests.

• COVID-19 and the migrant crisis.

• The Galwan clash with China.

• The year-long farmers' protests, culminating in the repeal of the farm laws.

• Persistent international criticism over democracy and human rights.

• The rise of the INDIA alliance.

• Losing the BJP's standalone majority in 2024 and adapting to coalition politics.

• Ongoing border and security challenges.

• The current protests over examination paper leaks and youth discontent.

Each of these was described at the time as the "biggest challenge yet." In several cases, commentators predicted it would be politically fatal. Yet the leadership survived every one of them and remained electorally competitive.

Whether the present situation turns out to be another such challenge or something fundamentally different remains to be seen. Democracies are resilient when governments, institutions, opposition parties and citizens all act responsibly.

History suggests one should avoid both complacency and premature conclusions, when it comes to Modi Shah.

History broadly corroborates this pattern. India has often tolerated prolonged political agitation and even periods of considerable disorder. But when the state perceives a movement as crossing from protest into a challenge to sovereignty, territorial integrity, or constitutional order, the response has historically become much more forceful, irrespective of which party is in power.

Examples we have seen from our childhood -

The Punjab insurgency & Operation Blue Star, followed by an extensive counterinsurgency campaign.

The decades long operations against Maoist/Naxalite insurgencies across central India under both Congress and BJP led governments, leading to complete clean up.

J&K, where successive governments have used extensive security measures during periods of militancy.

Northeast - Operation Bajrang & Operation Rhino against ULFA, sustained operations against NSCN factions, action against NDFB, NLFT and ATTF, and finally Operation All Clear, which dismantled insurgent camps in Bhutan with Indian cooperation.

Delhi Anti Hindu & Anti India Riots and Dismantling UP Mafia.

One may debate the methods, proportionality or outcomes of these actions. But the historical pattern is difficult to miss.

When the Indian state concludes that the issue is no longer merely political dissent but a secessionist challenge to sovereignty, governments of different ideological persuasions have generally responded with the full coercive power of the state.

Let's wait a little longer.

The premise assumes that political longevity depends primarily on street militancy. Indian political history suggests otherwise.

The RSS has existed for over a century. Governments have come and gone, it has faced bans, periods of political isolation, and electoral defeats, yet it has continued to expand. That points to an organisation built more on long term cadre development, social work, ideological training, and institution building than on episodic street mobilisation.

The Left and various anarchist groups historically relied far more on confrontational street politics & use of Guns. Today, despite retaining pockets of influence academically, they are fighting with NOTA. The RSS, meanwhile, has gone from being a marginal organisation to one associated with governments at the Centre and in many states. That is evidence of continuity rather than revolutionary politics.

Every political party needs committed workers. But there is a difference between a disciplined cadre and a cadre whose primary purpose is violent confrontation. The former builds organisations that survive generations. The latter may win moments, but rarely builds lasting institutions.

If the BJP were ever voted out, the real test would not be who controls the streets, but whether its organisational ecosystem continues to function, recruit, train, and reconnect with voters. On that metric, the Sangh Parivar has demonstrated resilience over decades.

Street power may influence a political moment. Organisational continuity shapes political history.

Yesterday night's violence was AAP's way of telling Congress & Rahul Gandhi, we are the real organisers of the protests.

The same actors which were used during Delhi Anti-Hindu riots & Fake Farmers protests have made an appearance. Over and above the Left lunatics like every earlier Circus on Delhi roads are part of it.

The protests are being staged keeping the Parliament session in view, wanting to do a Nepal & Bangladesh in trying to burn India, Punjab Elections. Surprisingly, not seeing any UP Election centric chaos getting created.

Delhi Police should have enough learning from Delhi Anti Hindu riots. They should now crack the whip instead of trying to linger it longer for BJP to gain sympathy & electoral mileage of all protests that have happened till date, as finally once the underbelly & paymasters were exposed, it was advantage BJP.

Why, those pictures reverberates till today and will do so in History? Because the people who were captured in those defining moments went on to shine not as "Lab Grown Diamonds", but diamonds who got their sheen & shine from handling the nature and natural pressure that one's political journey offers.

Rajdeep, we understand that Wanchuk is a protestor on hire like Yogendra Yadav and he has very efficiently acted as a pressure relief valve & took out the sting off the CJP protests. After him gone, the rest leaders into hiding, it was easy for Delhi Police to clean it up.

Now, when the aftershocks of what transpired yesterday was getting ascertained, suddenly we see Rahul Hamza Ali Mazari Gandhi, laid the Red Carpet of access leading to the doors of most powerful leader in the world - PM Modi. Why? And what did Powerful Jitendra Singh PMO, discuss with Rahul? Though a public post has been put up by him, but is it all?

The emergence of Rahul's vacation pictures and sudden hijacking of protest by Rahul from Dipke & team, raises many questions.

CJP wanted to recreate Nepal and Bangladesh. We have seen the shades of it yesterday and it would have been difficult for govt to control such mob without any history or records. Now with Congress & Rahul hijacking the protests from CJP, it's matter of time loads of ED and CBI files and pictures and call records will tumble out and calm will return, till the next session of Parliament & Yogendra Yadav, thinking his next protests.

There is a difference between protests by Congress & CJP.

CJP wanted to recreate Nepal & Bangladesh. Congress will do it like - say the Anna 2.0.

Once protests moves from the hands of uncontrollable and without any past leverage of the likes of CJP into hands of people on whom ED & CBI has loads of files, its matter of time that it will fizzle out.

Next few days there will be Congress drama across India. No need to get excited.
