Dragged out of his home. Publicly humiliated. Mercilessly beaten by @BJP4Bengal-backed miscreants.
Our dedicated worker Mihir Ghosh has tragically succumbed to his injuries.
ANOTHER DEATH.
ANOTHER INJUSTICE.
This was not merely an assault. It was a barbaric act of state sponsored political violence that robbed a family of their loved one.
#Bengal is now being defined by:
Rising violence and crime.
Growing insecurity among ordinary citizens.
A dangerous culture of mob justice enabled by political patronage.
HOW MANY MORE LIVES MUST BE LOST BEFORE THE BJP GOVT IS HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR THIS COMPLETE COLLAPSE OF LAW & ORDER?
Grateful to @KapilSibal Ji for standing by the truth and speaking out at a time when it matters most.
@BJP4India never misses an opportunity to preach peace yet its actions tell a very different story. Time and again, violence, intimidation and political aggression have become the tools of those who claim to champion democratic values.
Their hypocrisy now stands fully exposed. This is a party defined by thugs & goons who operate with the protection of both the State and Central establishments.
What the country witnessed yesterday was A NEW LOW.
But intimidation will not succeed. We will continue to raise our voice, defend democratic principles and stand firmly with the people of India. No amount of violence or fear can weaken our commitment to the Constitution and the values it represents.
The Falta AC repoll counting today exposes glaring inconsistencies. By 3:30 pm in the afternoon today all 21 rounds were completed. On 4th May, till the same time, only 2- 4 rounds had taken place. The country deserves an explanation from the ECI.
Although more than 1000 workers from Falta have been forced to flee their homes in the last 10 days the Election Commission continued to turn a blind eye. Party offices were vandalised in broad daylight even when the Model Code of Conduct was in force.
The Election Commission has taken no action. Instead, the CEO, who was allegedly used by the ECI to delete names under the guise of SIR and manipulate the electoral process, was appointed Chief Secretary of the new WB government at a time when the Model Code of Conduct was still in force in Falta and the polling process had not even been completed.
Even more worrying, counting agents of Trinamool and other political parties, except the BJP, were allegedly thrown out of the venue on May 4th by officials and central forces deployed under the Election Commission of India.
This is deeply alarming and strikes at the heart of free and fair elections.
Unless compromised officials are held accountable and an independent CCTV audit of the counting process is conducted, questions over the credibility of the mandate will only grow stronger.
The truth cannot be suppressed forever!
THE DEATH COUNT RISES, YET EVERY CRY FOR JUSTICE FALLS ON DEAF EARS.
Our dedicated workers - Somnath Bhattacharya (Saptagram AC, Polba-Dadpur Block) & Tapan Sikdar (Chakdah AC, Chakdah Block) - were BRUTALLY assaulted by @BJP4Bengal-backed goons. Tragically, BOTH succumbed to the severe injuries inflicted upon them.
The grieving families ask a simple but chilling question - does supporting Trinamool Congress in Bengal under @BJP4India’s watch now invite violence, persecution, and death?
Police - inactive.
Courts - silent spectators.
BJP Netas - busy celebrating.
Prime Minister - planning his next foreign tour.
Home Minister - completely missing in action.
And amidst this shameful silence, ordinary people continue to suffer the consequences of BJP’s politics of VIOLENCE, VENGEANCE & UTTER LAWLESSNESS.
We have fought an extremely difficult election where nearly 30 lakh genuine voters were allegedly disenfranchised from the electoral rolls. Throughout this entire process, we witnessed what we believe was deeply partisan conduct by several government agencies as well as the Election Commission of India.
Democratic institutions that are meant to function impartially appeared compromised, raising serious concerns about the fairness, credibility and transparency of the electoral process in West Bengal.
From the counting process to allegations surrounding the handling and movement of EVMs, Mismatch of Control Units, several disturbing incidents have left millions of people questioning whether the true mandate of the people has been respected. I have already demanded the release of CCTV FOOTAGE FROM THE COUNTING CENTRES and a transparent counting of VVPAT slips so that the truth can come before the people and every doubt can be addressed openly and honestly.
Democracy can only survive when electoral institutions inspire trust and confidence among citizens. Unfortunately, what we have witnessed has deeply shaken that trust.
At the same time, reports of post-poll violence, attacks on party offices, intimidation of our party workers and threats against supporters are deeply alarming and unacceptable in a democratic society. Many dedicated Trinamool workers and supporters who fought tirelessly on the ground have allegedly faced targeted attacks and have been forced to flee their homes out of fear and insecurity. No political worker in a democracy should ever have to choose between their safety and their political beliefs.
Keeping the democratic traditions of this great nation above everything else, my colleagues and I in the Trinamool Congress will continue to stand firmly with the people of West Bengal and with every Trinamool worker who fought tooth and nail against what we believe was a compromised electoral machinery.
We will continue to be a strong, vocal and uncompromising opposition both in Delhi and WB.
Under the guidance and leadership of Mamata Banerjee, our fight for democracy, constitutional values and the rights and dignity of the people will continue without fear and without compromise.
I urge every Trinamool supporter and worker to stay strong and united during this difficult time. If anyone has been subjected to post-poll violence, intimidation, or threats, I request them to reach out and share their details with me or DM me. I will do everything within my capacity to ensure their safety and security and pursue every available legal and democratic remedy. I will stand shoulder to shoulder with every Trinamool worker and supporter in this fight to ensure that truth prevails and that both governments now work genuinely in the interests of the people of West Bengal.

The overwhelming response from Nandigram reflects the trust you have placed in us and we are truly grateful. It is a privilege to stand in service of the people. Barring tomorrow, the Sebashray camp in Nandigram will continue until 31st January. I sincerely thank our doctors and medical professionals for their unwavering commitment to humanity. Sebashray stands because of their dedication. ❤️
In Diamond Harbour, we do not traffic in platitudes. We act. We believe in knowing the way, going the way, and showing the way. We believe in setting higher benchmarks, leading by example, and creating models that others can emulate. #Sebaashray is a living expression of this conviction.
Today, as we conclude the normal camps of Sebaashray 2, I do so with deep gratitude and pride. Since the launch of this edition, over 4,42,220 people have benefited from compassionate, dignified, and accessible healthcare.
Just today, 59,238 individuals received expert medical consultation, 23,062 diagnostic tests were conducted for early detection and timely care, 28,606 patients received free medicines, and 12 cases were referred for advanced treatment
This is service without spectacle. Care without conditions. Governance that reaches the last person, not as charity, but as duty. We will continue to stand with our people, not in words, but in ACTION.
Political Tourist @narendramodi spoke for nearly 40 minutes, fabricating fairy tales about what his government has done, or claims it plans to do, for Bengal. Yet he conveniently avoided one burning truth:
⚠️ Bengal’s MGNREGA funds worth ₹43,014.76 crore remain illegally withheld by the Centre
⚠️ Despite explicit orders from the Hon’ble Supreme Court, the scheme has still not been resumed in Bengal
✅ Our Maa-Mati-Manush Sarkaar stepped in, cleared pending wages of 59 lakh workers, and launched Karmashree (now Mahatmashree) to provide employment to 78.31 lakh job card holders, spending ₹20,776 crore from the state exchequer.
This is the collective punishment the Modi Government has meted out to Bengal’s poorest, driven purely by spite and political vendetta.

Trinamool has consistently worked to address public concerns in a constructive manner. Our delegation raised this issue today before the CEO, WB and we are glad that steps were taken subsequently to provide relief.
We respectfully request the @ECISVEEP to consider the cases of senior citizens on compassionate grounds, particularly those above 60 years of age who are living with medical conditions or comorbidities. We hope such individuals may be spared from being called for hearings, so as to avoid any undue hardship. HUMANITY must always remain our guiding principle.
