I explained one day to my therapist that my job as a digital artist online makes me very anxious, especially when I get behind on my work, which in turn slows me down even more. She dug a little deeper, asking what I draw, why I like it, and why I also fear posting it some days.

Eventually she stopped me mid sentence and told me the one thing I've known but needed to hear it out loud.

"Stop seeking validation from the internet."

絵が上手くならない理由は「考えていない」「目標、目的意識がない」の二つで方が付く。「絵が上手くなりたい」ではなく「こういう絵が描けるようになりたい」からスタートしないと上手くならない。技術技法なんて必要であれば勝手についてくる。ついてこないのは必要なレベルに達していないからだ。

@Alixesque Sorry to hear this wasn't enough to fix all the pain. A second surgery so soon after this would be nuts... here's hoping it doesn't come to that. Glad you still had some fun in May, though! Hopefully June treats you better, you deserve it.
