@astronuts97@Docquistador@FluffyBannon It's literally a national security concern. The DoD has publicly stated it. I'm not pulling this out of my ass for Internet points like OP.
@02OCT1835@Docquistador@FluffyBannon Sure not a problem. I know admins can have combat MOS identifiers, so maybe they make up that 1 person for every 15 ๐๐คท

@staymaddyo@Docquistador@FluffyBannon That might be true. But it's also true that 68%(I rounded up) of our active duty force is classified as overweight or obese. https://t.co/FvIWIK9tKp
@02OCT1835@Docquistador@FluffyBannon Something like ~15% of the Military is in direct combat arms positions. By DoD numbers roughly 1 in 15 of that(~7%) is overweight/obese. Either way it sets a standard, not a good standard, but a standard none the less.
Why I bought a 22 Nissan Altima, no one is looking in the trunks of Nissan Altimas. Also surprisingly it has been a great car. Trunk has space for legit everything. I've got a full trauma bag in there, plus a bag of tools, freeze dried food/MREs, basic trunk supplies, "etc". The BAE stigma kind of kills the grey man vibe a little though, still like it though.
@Docquistador@FluffyBannon Nationally 40% of our police are considered clinically obese and 70% of our military is considered overweight or obese. So they're in good company. Most of us will be dead within 24 hours in a true survival SHTF situation, no matter how well you shoot or how in shape you are.
@MorbidGoat@variabl3@historyvidos Uhm no. Maybe in the dictionary, but in US Military absolutely not. Marines earn the title Marine, and technically closer to a Sailor than a Soldier.. They also have the Rifleman's Creed vs the Army's Soldier's Creed.... But technically, yes, any ground infantry is a soldier.
@belbers@davepl1968@beha_hun A full hip replacement on someone over 65 is a waste of money. We do it because it improves quality of life. If we have health insurance at all, the point of it should be to improve our quality of life. If health insurance can pay for sex changes, why not a rebuilt tooth?
