Success isn't always about greatness, It's about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success.

We know It’s not easy to show up everyday and that’s why we’ve put together 4 tips to help you:

-Be active: post relevant content that aligns with you goals frequently

-Engage: leave your customers with the best experience by engaging and responding to them in a timely and respectful manner.

-Be up to par: Make sure your products/services are of the highest quality and let it stay that way

-Be reliable: deliver orders on time, do not give customers a timeline you know you can’t meet.

@drewface_ Relatable. I tried to setup and maintain ownCloud a while ago, I ultimately gave up. But we could learn from this experience and also go multi-cloud. Maybe configure google drive and Dropbox to sync a directory or have a script and cron handle mirroring.

Linux file permission illustrated.

To understand Linux file permissions, we need to understand Ownership and Permission.

𝐎𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩
Every file or directory is assigned 3 types of owner:

🔹Owner: the owner is the user who created the file or directory.
🔹Group: a group can have multiple users. All users in the group have the same permissions to access the file or directory.
🔹Other: other means those users who are not owners or members of the group.

𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧
There are only three types of permissions for a file or directory.

🔹Read (r): the read permission allows the user to read a file.
🔹Write (w): the write permission allows the user to change the content of the file.
🔹Execute (x): the execute permission allows a file to be executed.

Over to you: what are some of the commonly used Linux commands to change file permissions?

I sometimes struggle to understand how people instantaneously consume 3 to 4kw of electricity. I am currently pulling 1.25kw from my batteries.. that's running 2 x 65 inch TVs, a 220L fridge, water dispenser, a 1.5HP AC, couple of ceiling fans, a home lab and lots of lights.

[Techno Tim @TechnoTimLive]

Wife: Why can't I control the fan with Siri but I can control the lights?

Me: Well, I was configuring our new home cluster, after tearing down the old one. I decided that instead of putting a dedicated Kubernetes node on that VLAN, I would use Multus with mac-vlan to assign an IoT VLAN IP to that pod. I also decided to switch out and use Cilium as a CNI.
To make things even most interesting I provisioned the downstream RKE2 cluster with Rancher. I have been struggling try to get the pod an IP on the virtual interface but I think I figured it out. After that works I can then get HomeAssistant up and working and then connect it to Siri.
Before that though, I will have to install Longhorn and restore the PVC that is backed up in MinIO. Sometimes this fails so I have to find a backup that works and isn't corrupted. Once I restore Home Assistant and it's up and working, I will then make sure all of the plugins are working and it's connected to HomeKit.
Then I will apply all of the certificates and routes to Traefik. Then we should be able to use Siri again for the other half of our devices.

Wife: What?

Me: I should have it working tonight.
