I would strongly advise any future campaign to stay as far away from this guy as possible. If he doesn’t agree with your campaign decisions he’ll get on his soapbox and turn on you, disparage you and (his words, not mine) do anything he can to make you lose.
Zero integrity and not at all trustworthy.
Which is why we needed a unifying leader that is open and can appeal to everyone, and why the culture wars in our own party are damaging. Politics is a game of addition, not subtraction. I hope we can pull it off next election but the climb will be much steeper than it needed to be, IMO.
And that’s no slight to KLF. She appeals to me but will she appeal enough to the people we need to win an election? Time will tell I suppose.
@GurvSC So you voted based on fear of insiders? You don’t think KLF is an insider or connected to insiders?
I voted on who would be best to lead based on Conservative principles, and who could appeal to the broader electorate and win an election.
But that’s just me. 🤷🏼♂️
Cmon Nathan. You guys made this out to be a huge isssue, which it wasn’t. And then you used it to attack Caroline and her campaign even though she wasn’t involved.
I’ve gone back and re-read the chat. There was a handful of people constantly needing and challenging one campaign lead who eventually lost his cool. None of you ever mention that the main two actually reconciled before you guys left.
I’m not saying shut up and follow the campaign, I’m saying know your place and respect the responsibilities of others who actually make decisions. It’s not their job to satisfy every volunteer, it’s their job to best position the campaign. Agree with their decisions or not, they’re not yours, mine or Anthony’s decisions to make.
And if you don’t like it just leave. But you two went on and on about things that had long since passed for almost 2 months.
What you did changed people’s minds? Are you suggesting that you deserve a pat on the back? Remember that article where it mentioned that you had assigned yourself as the conscience of the CPBC? Even they could see it from their vantage point.
Operatives… Seriously? A campaign team aren’t operatives. What you did was contribute to a toxic campaign discourse and that doesn’t help anyone.
What if every campaign volunteer got on their soapbox like you did when they experienced a decision they didn’t like? These campaigns would all be a mess. I have no problem with you leaving when you felt you had to but you tried to burn the place down when you left. Dick move.
Private in campaign conversations. Nothing to do with that candidate or the campaign in general. And you may recall that the key two involved actually reconciled and you continued to poke away. You may also recall my suggestion to let the leaders lead. Yet, we had a campaign volunteer (you) antagonize campaign leadership for their decision before and after you left.
I didn’t see her experience as a big talking point throughout the campaign. Sure, she’s experienced but they all have experience of some sort that put them in a place where people were supporting their bid to be premier.
I’m gonna tell you exactly what I think right now. The campaign manager issue got a lot of attention in part because of you talking about it on your platform. You were a part of the team and with that trusted to a certain level. First off, campaign decisions aren’t yours, mine or any other volunteers decision to make. I didn’t like the Juno debate issue either but I respect rank and responsibility. You ended up taking private chat info and sharing it to disparage this campaign more than once. Dick move. I don’t know what happened but NK disappeared around the same time you did.
You asserted DD being being a plant. Who’s to say you weren’t? Am I making that accusation? Nope, but kettle black.
I struggle with that. The race wasn’t won/lost on great campaigning, policy ideas, ability or experience, it was won/lost based on muddying the waters with misinformation, lies and rhetoric.
My sword was never drawn but it’s unlikely that I’m eagerly going to jump on the bandwagon and continue to give as much as I have to this movement. Definitely uninspired today.
The race is over. The members have spoken. And I feel good.
Congratulations to @KerryLynneFindl on her win and to my fellow contestants @iainblackbc, @yuri_fulmer and @PeterMilobar for their strong campaigns.
Thank you to my incredible team who believed in me, and to everyone who participated in this process.
Now, it’s time to beat the NDP so we can restore hope and prosperity to the province we love.
Today’s the big day! When hard work pays off. When months of commitment is rewarded.
Yes, it’s dance recital day! 🙌
(I hear there may be another event of some importance this evening, too?)
Today a new B.C. Conservative leader will be announced. I respectfully request that before the “He/she isn’t Conservative” crowd launch their attacks on X, we give her/him a couple of months to show that we made the right choice.
Just hours left to vote in the Conservative Party of BC leadership race.
I encourage every member to get out and vote, and I’m proudly supporting Caroline Elliott as my number one choice for leader.
Caroline has been leading the charge on private property rights, sounding the alarm on our declining healthcare system, and speaking clearly on the drugs and crime crisis impacting communities across BC.
Most importantly, she understands that British Columbia needs to get back to building and getting our resources to market — whether it’s forestry, mining, critical minerals, LNG, energy, or metals. We cannot continue falling behind while other jurisdictions move ahead.
British Columbia has incredible potential, but after years of decline under this mud hut NDP government, people are ready for a government focused on growth, opportunity, safe communities, and getting results again.
Make sure your voice is heard and vote @NVanCaroline
What do you mean “Conservatives keep ending up in these cycles”? This party achieved less than 2% of the vote share in each of the previous 2 provincial elections before 2024. You’re trying to tear this party down just as it’s growing and actually on the verge of achieving something. You wanna talk truth? That’s the truth.
As this leadership race enters its final days, I want to say how proud and thankful I am for Team @NVanCaroline — every volunteer and supporter who has given their time, energy, and heart to this campaign.
I also want to recognize the people working on every team in this race. Campaigns take sacrifice, long hours, and belief in something bigger than yourself, and everyone who has stepped up to be part of this process deserves respect for that.
I’ve been on both the losing side and the winning side of leadership campaigns. When my side lost, I went to work for the democratically elected leader because defeating the NDP mattered more than internal divisions.
If we want to turn this province around, we need to spend less time tearing each other apart and more time building a movement capable of earning the trust of British Columbians.
The future of BC is at stake. Let’s act like it.
