@Trigg3100@SamRalphATL@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 The Hawks fans who think this really want to believe it’s true… because if it’s not true, we gave away a 25-11 all star entering the prime of his career.
@Kam7810 I think they all had their moments. Bud GM was probably the worst. I’d say the jury is still out on Onsi because plenty created cap space. Billy Knight was praised, Danny Ferry brought in a good crop, Schlenk led us to the ECF… all out less than two years later.
@2sucksss@Kam7810@jordan23atl You make know sense. Minnesota just reached the WCF with KAT. Julius Randle spent the whole year injured. His value was very low.
@2sucksss@Kam7810@jordan23atl No one ever expected Randle could fetch you Karl Anthony Towns or RJ could get OG. But they were trying to win. We’re trying to develop and stay cheap.
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 You’re misunderstanding my point. We replaced our starters with players from our own bench.
I wish our GMs could see something in other players around the league.
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 Pair Collins with Huerter and use those firsts from the Murray trade to get Siakim or OG. Selling low and replacing starters with bench players then blame Trae for not making it work.
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 Yeah. I remember how happy Brunson was when they brought in Josh Hart. Remind me again who did we get back for our 20-10 PF in Collins who was 25?
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 Incorrect sir. From that ECF team, the Hawks sold off Collins, Huerter, Bogdanovic, Reddish, Hunter, Capela, Gallinari and replaced them with A.J. Griffin, Dejonte and a conditional 1st.
The Knicks traded for OG (allstar) Bridges and KAT (allstar).
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 That’s the point… the Knicks were middling but stayed the course and added pieces. We blew it up selling off known players for bench guys.
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 I agree with doing right by Trae. But letting the season play out, Hawks probably finish similar with Trae on the roster, which rebuilds his value and use a sign and trade to increase the return. This isn’t a new concept.
@2sucksss@jordan23atl@Kam7810 Not only is it true, but I believe replacing Capela in the starting lineup added to the decline. His presence and rebounding allowed the Hawks to get out and run. His impact was bigger than a couple missed layups.
