Literally, just sat down turned on #Yankees. Saw they were up 5-0, bases loaded one out. Lamathieu hits a shot to 3rd baseman who turns it into a double play. Kinda feel like a jinx
@FrankiesTwoLoud I also kind of love the fact that after the game Betts seemed more annoyed by the team losing than by his getting assaulted by these two guys. Game recognizes game.
@BBGreatMoments I do not think it is cheating. There was a kid doing that in a legion game I was coaching and I brought it to the umpire's attention. He said, no, as long as he did it consistently it was fine. Not sure that was the right explanation but they seem to be allowing it here as well.
@nut_history Fritz Peterson, believe it or not; He's was a lefty for the Yankees back in the '70s - part of the famous wife swap with Mike Kekich, which of course I was oblivious to at 8 yrs old. And the mitt was for a righty.
@DJLeMVP I like the rule as it speeds up the game, which is good. However, hate the term "ghost runner" in this situation as it really is nothing like the "ghost runner" rule we used as kids when the batting team was short a guy. Like two-man team with two on and one has to hit.
