Proud moment for Jammu & Kashmir as Srinagar hosted the Chintan Shivir of Ministers of Youth Affairs & Sports. Ministers from 18 States/UTs and Secretaries from all 35 States/UTs converged here for drafting India’s roadmap to Olympics 2036 through stronger grassroots sports, talent identification, better governance, youth engagement and a clear medal strategy.
For J&K, this is a historic opportunity. As we steadily emerge as India’s winter sports capital, this national focus will soon translate into major gains in sports infrastructure, youth empowerment, and special plans for rural, border and remote areas, villages and towns, so that hidden talent gets the platform it deserves.

Grateful to Hon’ble Union Minister Shri Mansukh Mandaviya, the central team and Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for this rare honour of J&K hosting the Shivir. Proud that Srinagar is helping shape India’s sporting future, and hopeful that the next Olympian will rise from the soil of Jammu & Kashmir. We will soon move to districts and villages to translate this sporting and youth engagement strategy into real action.

What stops political parties to bring a quota in quota in their candidate selection to ensure no OBC/SC/ST/Minority woman is left behind as they fear? Why does everything have to be constitutionally mandated & only then applicable? Why can’t parties incorporate it in their own party constitution?
Either of the national parties could have taken the route of TMC and BJD to initiate women representation through party constitution but they waited for a legally mandated constitutional change?
Despite passing the act in 2023 only 11% women from national parties were given tickets to contest in the Lok Sabha in 2024. So please get the 33% women in the assemblies and parliament!
