Ms. Kyaterekera Annet, a resident of Namaato East, Namaato Parish in Namutumba Sub-county, Namutumba District, is a shining example of how the Parish Development Model (@PDMSecretariat) is transforming lives and creating wealth at the grassroots.
Annet received Shs1 million under the PDM programme at a time when she had already started pursuing her dream of poultry farming but lacked sufficient capital to expand. The funds enabled her to purchase additional chicks, poultry equipment such as feeders and drinkers, as well as meet vaccination and management costs.
Today, her poultry enterprise has grown to over 700 birds, a remarkable achievement that reflects her hard work, determination, and proper utilization of the funds.
With ample space available for expansion, Annet remains ambitious and is determined to grow her poultry project to 2,000 birds in the near future.
She expressed her gratitude to H.E. President Yoweri @KagutaMuseveni for the Parish Development Model initiative, noting that the programme has played a pivotal role in transforming her livelihood and bringing her closer to achieving her dreams.
Annet's story is yet another testament to the impact of government wealth-creation programmes in empowering Ugandans to move from subsistence to commercial production.
