TECHNOLOGY on the other hand has changed in leaps and bounds over the last 40 years, actual changes have slowed since the iphone has become standard but you can certainly date media no longer on fashion, but on tech at the time.

There's also "Public Fashion" via "Office Fashion" with office fashion not changing as much as public fashion. On top of that Fashion being cyclical and the cycles getting faster (again due to fast fashion) and patterns needing to stay the same for machines to mass produce.

I wonder if HOW we make clothing and fast fashion is the reason why fashion doesn't actually change as drastically anymore. Like for an "It Look" to trend would take months if not years of advertising to get it out there and then into peoples hands.

Since fashion didn't change AS FAST and the scarcity of getting things was part of the appeal, money wasn't entirely being made on mass production and cheap labor as it is now. Fashion has now changed to "Sell a lot of the same shit as quick as we can" lending to less diversity
