"Nobody knows anything here. The specs, code, tests, PRDs, tickets, resolution of those tickets, reports, etc., everything is made by Claude Code. Nobody on my team likes this. They are being forced to ship as much as they can."
This is sad. I tell our engineers to use AI but never cede our understanding to AI.
As an industry, we are driving too fast in a fancy new car we barely understand how to drive, inviting disaster.
I resigned from Anthropic today. I spent the last three years doing pretraining research at both OpenAI and Anthropic. Neither company is acting responsibly. They are racing straight to self-improving superintelligence and gambling with our lives. More thoughts below.
Florida just made history, quietly.
As of January 1, 2026, the state launched its first-ever public animal abuser registry under Dexter's Law, named after a shelter dog killed just days after being adopted.
Anyone convicted of animal cruelty in Florida is now listed in a free, searchable database. Shelters, rescues, and even private pet owners rehoming animals can check it before handing an animal to a stranger.
It also toughened sentencing for aggravated cruelty cases. Florida is only the second state in the US with a law like this.
This is what real accountability looks like. Other states should be watching. 🐾
Should every state have a registry like this? Or does it not go far enough?
"We have to accept the possibility that all mathematics could fall to AI within some months, however unsettling that might seem."
The part of mathematics that is like playing Chess or Go, coming up with ever cleverer moves, will be conquered by AI. That is now evident.
The part of mathematics that is like inventing an entire new game like Chess _that humans would consider interesting_ is much harder but then humans do that very very rarely too. The "humans would consider interesting" could be considered a fundamental limit of AI or merely a face-saving formula to protect human ego but humans set the rules (for now!).
Where does programming fit here? It increasingly seems to me that a very large fraction of software code could be produced competently and _correctly_ by AI. The "correctly" part is being addressed with proof systems like Lean that are applied to mathematical theorem proving today but soon will be applied to verify the software code produced by AI.
The point is not that "AI will do it all". There will be humans involved in the process. The key question is "how many humans are needed" and the answer right now is sobering and unsettling.
All of us in software need to figure out how to stay relevant. Let me get back to work. Please wish us luck 🙏
@svembu Can you sugest Govt to implement this Idea to handle bad dull dumb students and make them feel they too can become genious. All the schools concentrate only on good students and want to make so called intelegent students whonsxires high marks and get job. Life is not about this.
As a kid, when my friends were not doing well in mathematics, I would feel bad and would teach them. That also made me understand the subject better myself.
From childhood, I was taught to have this attitude: when you see something broken, take the responsibility to fix it, do not merely complain. If you cannot fix it, accept it but make a mental note "some day I will fix it when I can".
Over the years, that becomes second nature. I take it as my personal responsibility to figure out solutions for our rural economy. No one appointed me to that role, and I have appointed myself happily 😄
"If economy is growing at 7.8% why is the PM asking us not to travel abroad, not to buy gold, not to have foreign weddings etc"
Let me explain: East Asian nations (Japan, Taiwan, South Korea and later China) all went through a phase of rapid GDP growth combined with the need to conserve foreign exchange. Here is why that happens.
1. Our economy is growing at a good rate but we still have an import dependence, in both energy and in technology. In fact, the faster the economy grows, the greater the need for both energy and technology inputs.
2. To balance that import dependence, we have to export more and our exports are surging. However, even our exports need advanced technological inputs (precision machines, materials, CPUs, GPUs, advanced software etc) that we need to import today.
3. Catching up in all of these areas takes time, often measured in decades. We have made a good start but we need time.
Look at how long it took East Asia to catch up with the West. Their economies were growing rapidly even as they worked hard to conserve foreign exchange.
That is exactly what our government is trying to do.
Once we gain competence in all the advanced technlogies, and achieve energy independence through renewable energy that we develop the technology for, we would no longer need to conserve foreign exchange.
The situation is similar to a fast growing company that needs capital to grow. So it has to conserve capital to invest in growth. Our nation needs to conserve foreign exchange likewise.
@shrutihaasan doesn't just talk about animal welfare , she lives it.
She's built a real track record of quiet, consistent care: adopting rescued cats, urging people to adopt not shop, and using her platform to normalize compassion for strays and rescues.
Her cat Clara has been a fixture on her page for years, and she recently welcomed a rescued kitten, Aslan, into her home. She even opened up publicly about the heartbreak of having to rehome him due to severe allergies proof that real animal love isn't always easy or convenient.
Prime Minister Modi-ji's Independence Day call to Indian companies to join the ranks of leading global companies is deeply inspiring.
It means a stronger and deeper commitment to R&D at every level. Bharat must lead in algorithms and atoms, AI and photons, lenses and magnets, robots and rockets and all the technologies in between. We have the brains to do it!
His bold vision inspires us to work harder at Zoho.
Happy Independence Day! Jai Hind 🫡

I am in Jodhpur for the Maheshwari Global Convention event and I am talking to young entrepreneurs from the community today.
I studied in Chennai in a government-aided free Tamil medium school funded by the late Shri Jaigopal Garodia-ji. He was born in poverty in Sujangarh, Rajasthan and never went to school due to poverty. At age 10, he migrated to Kolkata in search of a livelihood, and eventually migrated to Chennai and found business success. He donated all his wealth to his charitable foundation that has funded education generously. A lot of schools in Chennai, particularly schools that poor and lower middle class kids attend, have been funded by him. I owe him a huge debt of gratitude.
My goal today is to urge the entrepreneurs to invest in long term patient R&D projects and think of it as the continuation of the educational and social service to the nation that entrepreneurs from Rajasthan are so famous for.
Unwrap a life that's secure, well protected and filled with joyful moments. Merry Christmas
