Are you starting to see why your housing is so expensive?
The homeowners in your neighborhood band together to prevent more housing from being built, which means YOU pay thousands more every year — all so they can get even wealthier
When housing gets built, you pay less
I don't love the phrase "Fuck You Money." I find it crass
The theory goes, if you have financial security, you can say what you truly believe
Scott Pelley had the courage to speak up to his bosses, knowing his career would be over at 60 Minutes
Ironically, so many people who romanticize "Fuck You Money" lack that same courage. The idea that more money alone will make you courageous is a childlike fantasy
This idea of magical transformation echoes so much of what I hear in the financial community: If I just had more money, I'd be more adventurous. If I just had more money, I'd feel less anxious. If I just had more money, I'd finally pursue my interests, and speak up about politics, and set boundaries
If you were going to do those things, you would already be doing them
BREAKING:
‘60 Minutes' correspondent Scott Pelley confronted new EP Nick Bilton during an intro meeting Bilton organized with staff — grilling him about recent firings and Bari Weiss.
"She's murdering '60 Minutes.'"
"She does not love this place. She was brought in to kill it—and she's doing exactly that."

Some of the comments think this is ridiculous. Maybe to you. But people who want extraordinary outcomes do things that seem "sad" or absurd to others
Extraordinary fitness -- requires a level of discipline you might not have. Same for high earners or people getting into Tier 1 law schools
You can roll your eyes or you can adapt the principle for your own situation if you're pursuing excellence
This wedding photographer talks about how brides want candid, effortless photos and they spend tons of time seeking out the “perfect photographer” when they really need to work on being MORE PHOTOGRAPHABLE
I see the same thing in self development. People spend years finding the perfect coach or book or program without asking the more important question: “Am I coachable?”

One of my Rich Life rules is I don't fill out forms any more
I hate forms. HATE THEM
My assistant pre-fills forms before a doctor's appointment. When I'm done, I leave & she handles scheduling and payment
I love using $ to solve minor life irritations. Adjust for your needs
Please arrive at your appointment 15 minutes early so you can fill out the same forms you filled out online and then be asked the same questions when the doctor actually sees you.
This is true. I've had thousands of conversations with MAGAs. I've asked hundreds of them to try to answer their own question
NOT ONE HAS EVER DONE IT
NOT ONE
LOOK AT THESE EXAMPLES
The problem with the “do your own research” crowd is that so many of them read at a 5th grade level. You can’t expect them to get through a proposed Bill or the Epstein files, that’s at least high school level reading.
@sleepy_devo In the past, in states where voter ID laws have been implemented, they've deterred a lot of legal voters from actually voting. Deterring tens or hundreds of thousands of legal votes for the sake of preventing one or two fraudulent votes is not considered worthwhile.
@ChicagoObserver@MrFamilyOffice You should read the source of that “research” and then look into exactly what they say
As an example, “new research has found that buying a $3,900 Loro Piana scarf by age 30s “is associated with” a 22.5% higher net worth”
This is extremely bad propaganda
Ramit’s Rule of Large Numbers:
Whenever you share a large projection years out, random commenters will immediately say, “BUT HOW MUCH WILL THAT BE WORTH IN 20 YEARS???”
They don’t know why they’re saying it. They don’t even realize what they’re doing when they respond like this.
The number I shared was $18 million, btw. Even if it was nominal (it was not), that’s a huge amount of money.
