Really saddened by the news of Nana jiโs passing.
He was one of those rare actors who never needed to do too much to make you sit up and watch. That voice, that intensity, that honesty in every performanceโฆ he was completely his own.
I feel fortunate that we got to work together in Welcome, and then again more recently in Housefull 5. There are so many memories from those sets that Iโll always hold close.
Nana ji was truly one of a kind. Itโs hard to believe youโre gone.
Thank you for all the memories. You will be missed more than words can say. ๐

Finance Ministry has released the data showing net losses for retail traders fell to โน91,685 crore in FY26 from โน1.12 lakh crore in FY25
Government is stating they were able to reduce the loss of retail traders by increasing STT and margin requirements
This conclusion is missing four important points :
1. STT Collection : The greed of collecting STT from traders is at an all-time high. Government's collection from STT has increased from 6,634 Crores in FY 22 to 27,695 Crores in FY26. The important point here is that fewer traders are paying more STT now, which actually hits the P&L statement. STT Collection has increased by 318% in comparison to 35% growth in India's GDP in 4 years.
2. Active Traders: India witnessed exponential growth in the number of F&O Traders. We went from 42.74 lacs to 98.1 lacs in just 4 years. The number has now fallen from 98.1 lacs to 78.6 lacs in just 1 year. These ~20 lacs are now moving onto more risky platforms, which include crypto platform offerings with 100 times leverage and India is still losing net money. We may see rise in dabba trading culture too.
3. Average P&L : We managed to reduce the number of traders but the average loss for traders has increased from โน 1,13,913 to โน 1,16,913. This shows that the average trader is now losing more money due to new regulations.
4. Milking STT : Government has further increased STT on futures and options by 150% and 50%, respectively, in the 2026 budget. This is effectively equivalent to milking traders for just participating in markets, as you pay STT on the transaction irrespective of loss or profit.
Market Participants lost 91,685 Crores in F&O, but 27,696 was collected by the government in the form of STT
India's top 5 brokers made a cumulative profit of 10,300 Crores in FY2025 and the government made 22,225 Crores during the same period from charges on transactions only
The job of the government is to regulate markets instead of thinking of it as free money for their revenue collection to distribute it as freebies to win elections
STT is very close to paying protection money on F&O & equity transactions without any protection benefits
If we really want to make Indian markets efficient and turn them into a global hub, we need to address the unfair charges on market participants
My biggest nightmare as a broker is whatโs happening in the Korean markets right now. The source of my nightmare is the way our MTF book has been growing along with the industry as a whole. In terms of pure risk, MTF is by far the biggest risk we have taken since we started in 2010.
More specifically, the risk lies in our โน9,000-crore book: at least half of it is in non-F&O stocks, which can hit lower circuits every day without offering an exit.
The problem with Korea is the one-way rally. When markets go up so sharply, leverage builds up because collateral values increase, leading to more borrowing and so on. The second layer of risk comes from the derivatives complex and leveraged ETFs, which further exacerbate moves on both the upside and downside.
When the markets fall, things get really ugly. The first leg of selling tends to be small, but as collateral and margin values drop, margin calls increase, leading to forced selling. Forced unwinding from leveraged ETFs makes this worse, and this downside move becomes a self-reinforcing loop until things stabilize.
Btw, MTF became popular only in the last 3โ4 years, and we really havenโt seen a sharp market crash similar to the KOSPI since COVID. Even though MTF as a percentage of market cap is small, if the Indian markets were to fall sharply, it would cause severe sell-offs across many small- and mid-cap stocks. Brokers today typically provide MTF on ~1,500 stocks. ๐ฌ
Luckily, thanks to SEBI, we've avoided the worst excesses that typically arise from unchecked leverage.
Btw, my colleague @prayagverma maintains a site with really good market stats, including MTF, here: https://t.co/uRJrvOvbHK

Someone on Reddit shared an app they vibe coded with Claude Code. It scans your Rubik's Cube and solves it in 20 moves or less. ๐คฏ
There is a math fact called God's Number. No matter how badly a Rubik's Cube is scrambled, it can always be solved in 20 moves or fewer.
43 quintillion possible positions. One solution path. Always 20 moves or under.
Point your camera at the cube. It reads the colors using OpenCV. Captures all 6 faces. Figures out the exact scramble. Computes the shortest solution. A 3D guide walks you through each move.
Runs entirely in a browser tab. Works reliably under bad lighting. You only need to show it 3 sides.
